The Missing Friend

In a large city, somewhere in the busy streets of California, there lived a girl named Alice. She was a 14-year-old girl who lived with her parents. But she was going through hard times, for her best friend, Sarah had gone missing. It was almost 2 weeks since she had disappeared. To be precise, it was a rainy November night and she had gone to buy some groceries. Her mom got worried for she had not returned since a long time, and her mom gave her a call. Sarah picked up, but in the middle of the conversation, she cut the call. She never called back or answered the call again. They searched for her in every way possible. But there was no sign of her. Alice was depressed most of the time. She tried to find her friend in every way she could, but eventually, she failed. She had almost lost hope. Life was hard without Sarah. But one day, Alice found something surprising. Something that might help them to find Sarah…….

     In the early morning, Alice's dad found a strange mail in the mailbox which said in big, bold, letters: "For Alice". Dad called Alice. "This is for you, Alice," he said while handing it to her. Alice took it and went in her room. "This is so strange! Who could have sent it?" Alice stared at the mail suspiciously. She slowly opened it. She gasped as she saw a carbon black paper with small, delicate white letters. It read: "Street 44". That's it. Alice turned the paper. It was totally blank. Clueless, she began to think what is must be about. But suddenly, she remembered something. On that day when Sarah had gone missing…. She went to the vegetable shop which was on street 44. Something told her that… this was a small clue about where her best friend is. But she was about to explore more. Nobody till now knows where Sarah is. Neither do I. But this was just the beginning.
