We all have a shoulder to lie on, someone or something to whom we share everything, something which calms us down and comforts us their way. You could find help from a song, person, or thing that helps you escape the harsh world for a while.

The protagonist of this story also had a shoulder which gave her hope for positivity and made her feel safe. Tara lost her parents in an accident when she was 14 years old. Everyone blamed that little girl for the loss. After the death of her parents, the child was cursed and called the "Misfortune Child." When Tara looked in the mirror, she could remember the eyes of hatred and the voices of people blaming her. Negative thoughts surrounded her, and she wanted to end her life. Suddenly, it started raining, the white noise calmed her down, and she felt as if the rain washed away all her negative thoughts. Tara considered rain to be her parents who were protecting her from heaven. It was such an intimate moment that she closed her eyes and felt the rain hugging her. Tara's relatives abandoned her and sent her to an orphanage where she couldn't make friends. People in the orphanage didn't care since they thought her bad luck would affect them. It rained whenever the girl was sad or missed her parents. Tara could feel her connection and similarities with the rain. People have different perspectives and beliefs about it. As some consider rain as bad luck by symbolizing it as God's tears, others believe it to bring space for building new and colourful memories like a rainbow. Tara found her happiness in rain, making her feel connected to her parents. The entire orphanage considered rain to be a blessing from God. Tara's birthday always began with heavy rainfall which made other kids in the orphanage jealous. People started believing that Tara had some magical affinities. All the kids started pretending to care for Tara and tried to make her their friend as they wanted it to rain on their birthdays too. Naive Tara thought people had started accepting her. Tara became very popular in the orphanage when it began to rain on everyone's birthday.

One day, Tara was going to meet her new friends when she overheard some kids talking about how naive and foolish she was and revealing the whole motto. Tara's heart broke into pieces, she ran to her room and started sobbing. Tara stood towards the window and it started raining heavily. She took her hand out of the window to feel the tiny droplets. The little drops falling on her hand calmed her down. She lay down on the bed and slept peacefully for hours under the white noise. At the age of 21, Tara met with an accident when was returning home after buying some groceries. A truck had run over her body and her lower body got paralyzed. She was admitted to the hospital and her condition was critical for a week. After winning the life-death battle, she turned on the television in her ward and was shocked to see that a thunderstorm had hit the city. All the channels covered the enormous damage the storm caused to the humanitarian properties. The sky had cleared the day she got discharged, which made her bond with the rain even stronger.

Tara pursued literature and became a well-known poet. People loved her globally as her poems revolved around "rain" personified as being a shoulder during hard times.
