The Revenge - Part 1
The Revenge - Part 1
Maya was living with her family in Gurgaon. She was in the tenth grade at Laksh International School. Her elder sister, who was pursuing her graduation in Delhi, was her best friend.
Maya was very good in her academics and was also passionate about poetry. Poetry had been her life since her tender childhood. Despite devoting most of her time to studies, she dedicated herself to her poetic pursuits and the reading of literary books. She was very popular in her school and even at the city level as an upcoming writer for her stories and poems published and aired from time to time.
Problems crept in when this popularity proved to be fatal, creating intolerance in many and attracting enemies toward her silent and well-deserved success.
Life can become boring without competition, but often competition turns to rivalry and kills the happiness of a person. This is even more true for teenagers like Maya. The unwanted enmity that developed always remained at its peak. Maya's parents often compared her to her cousins and friends who lacked creativity. Despite Maya's excellence in both her studies and literature, many were jealous of her and began to hate her.
Gradually, Maya's mind filled with unwanted negative thoughts. Instead of helping her deal with these negativities, her parents added to her traumas, caused by others' sheer intolerance.
Maya's woes were mounting, but she consoled herself and decided to firmly and boldly face every negativity. She never gave up and continued to excel in her studies despite her multiple health issues, such as anxiety.
However, the evil eye is real. One of her cousins was totally jealous of her success. The worst thing is when your childhood is unlike others. He started spreading bad rumors about Maya, comparing her to others, and insulting her in front of the family. Maya tolerated all these silently until he started criticizing her writing. Unable to endure the attacks on her passion, Maya protested verbally, shocking everyone with her reaction.
Maya expected her parents to understand that she was not responsible for others' jealousy. To her dismay, her parents didn't bother to listen to her and were swayed by others' words. This added to her agony, making her more fragile mentally.
Maya became totally silent, confining herself and stopping communication with everyone except her elder sister, who was her only confidante. However, her sister couldn't always be there for her. The situation worsened, and Maya's health issues peaked, making it a struggle for her to study.
Meanwhile, her cousin continued his threats, saying, "Wait, one day I will destroy your image. Remember, your life is under me. I can do anything to your family, and no one will believe you."
Thanks to Maya's sister, who consoled her, Maya gradually became stronger. She decided to ignore her cousin's threats and vocally confirmed, with evidence, his ugly and notorious behavior.
A month passed, and Maya's health condition was not good. Her cousin took advantage of this and provoked her further, saying he would make her condition the worst. Maya informed her elder sister, who returned to Gurgaon because Maya was in bad condition. Her sister thought about informing their parents but knew they would blame Maya.
A few days passed, and Maya's health deteriorated further. Suddenly, one day she started vomiting blood. The doctors were unable to diagnose her condition.
The next day, shocking news arrived: Maya was no longer in this world. Her death left her parents, friends, teachers, and readers in shock for months. Her family believed it was due to her health issues, but her elder sister suspected their cousin had done something, possibly black magic, to harm her. Maya's little creative world was destroyed forever.
