Milner slid open his drawer and picked up a book titled, “The Perilous Prophecy“ written by the great astrologer Michael in the 14nth century. As he flipped through the pages devouring its contents, his interest level peaked. He decided to read the entire book on one stretch, given the interest, it churned out. As he neared the last few pages of the book, the prophecy mentioned in the book shuddered his heart. It was mentioned that his country Moland would invite perilous war in the 21st century, which would erase it from the world map. This prophecy seemed to have disturbed him a lot, which was apparent in his demeanor. The next few days, he was lost in his mind unable to paint the picture of his country which would soon be disappeared as per the prophecy of the great Michael, he looked out of the window at the serene picture of the buildings arranged together glorifying the beauty of his country.

People were seen roaming freely on the streets of his country with a bright smile on their countenances, completely obvious of the perils lurking around. Milner imagined the picture of the catastrophic destruction of his country with people begging in the streets, pouring tears off their eyes. He believed it was his responsibility to update the prophecy to the president of the country to ensure the evasion of the possible destruction through some careful measures. He tried his best to get an appointment to meet the president but to no avail. Milner emphasized the importance of his meeting with the president but was sent off, deeming him an average person who had no power to meet the president of the country. He was not a person who would avenge the resentment, rather tried every trick in his books to transport the message to the president. His wish was fulfilled when he trespassed the building through clever means and screamed the prophecy loud enough for the president to hear. The president shrugged off his warning and the security guards jailed him for trespassing the president’s building.

The neighboring country Brussia scheduled a rendezvous between the powerful people and the outcome of it was rather frightening. They had decided to invade Moland, given the latter’s refusal to agree to their terms. Moland did not know about the modus operandi of its neighboring country and was not militarily prepared to fend off its neighbor. The dawn of June 21st was rather ominous. The cold accompanied by rain took over the country of Moland. An explosion materialized in the major airport, pounding the infrastructure into rubbles, people ran helter-skelter, unable to deal with the catastrophic destruction of the airport. All hell broke loose with the Brussia soldiers marching into the Moland cities gradually increasing in numbers. They hurled missiles and bombed the places to mark the beginning of the war between Moland and Brussia.

Unprepared for fighting the enemies, Moland seemed to have lost the steam with its infrastructures pulverized every minute. Many who enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle in the country became homeless in a jiffy. People couldn’t believe their eyes at a dastardly attack on their country without a prior warning. The president recounted the incident of Milner giving him a prior warning, but he refused to accept it and now the situation has gone out of control. The president sent his troops to fight the powerful Brussian soldiers, who were militarily far superior to them. Touted as one of the famous countries for historical places, Moland had now turned into a battlefield producing dead bodies. The inferno set in every place to shatter the beauty of the country, with people gasping for their lives.

The news spread like a wildfire all over the world, even Milner came to know the seriousness of the situation. He tugged at the grills and yelled at the police officers for being ignorant about the prophecy of the great Michael. The resurgent Moland army fought bravely against its neighbors, giving their all. They didn’t surrender meekly to their neighbors rather put up a brave fight despite losing their lives. Thousands of soldiers died in the bloody war, which seemed to gather steam quickly to claim many more lives. The talks between the two countries did not pave way for the end of the war. The entire world was hooked to the television to get the latest updates on the war between the two countries. Will the prophecy of the great Michael materialize? How long will Moland be able to defend their territory given their poor military capacity as opposed to the powerful military of Brussia?

As the days treaded, an overwhelming number of people died. People from other countries who had come to Moland for higher studies and job opportunities blamed themselves for their misfortune and pleaded with their mother country to facilitate a smooth transition back to their own country. The life which was serene a week back had transformed into hell and pain now. At any given moment, bombs could explode and people can die. The police officers ran for their lives when a powerful missile landed beside their station. Milner freed himself from the jail and strode out to witness the catastrophic destruction of his motherland. Tears ceaselessly poured out of his eyes as he looked at the destroyed buildings and dead people all over.

I told you! I told you! I will fight for my country till my last breath!

Amidst the bombing taking place nearby, Milner donned a brave face and destroyed some ammunition of Brussia. He put up a brave fight single-handedly and scared the Brussia military team for an hour. People watched his patriotism with welled eyes, but he was outnumbered soon and died like a warrior. The president was all praise for this braveheart whose heroics in the battleground nearly sent tremors to the enemies; he declared him as the hero of Moland and said the people of the next generation will remember and adore him for his gallant efforts to save his country. Many people migrated back to their country and some of them got killed on their way to the airport. The powerful people tried to flee the country to evade the danger of death. Some of them survived, but others got bombed. The prophecy of the great astrologer Michael had indeed come to true with the country called Moland erased from the world map.
