A new moon was in the sky that day. The entire city was enveloped in complete darkness. Ankit, a 15-year-old boy, was enrolled in class 10 at the time. He had vivid memories of that day. He still experiences chills all over his body whenever he thinks about it. He received an invitation to dinner from a foreign friend that day in a little village about a mile outside of the city. Ankit quickly departed after getting his mother's approval. Suddenly unexpected load shedding happened. He believed that this was his bad fate. On the night of the new moon, the entire city was already completely in the dark, and this load shedding added to that, he thought. However, he ignored the fact and continued on. Bikash is a very good friend of his. Thinking that they will be seeing each other again after a lengthy absence made him pleased. As he rode into the village on his bicycle, everyone gave Ankit an odd look. What has happened to them, he wondered. Why are these people staring at him in such an odd manner?

He was almost there; there was still some distance to go. Bikash and Ankit have been pals for almost nine years. Three and a half years ago, Bikash and his parents departed for foreign lands. Despite being physically separated during these three and a half years, they frequently spoke on the phone. They never ended their cherished bond. But it had been 12 days since their last phone call. Ankit was startled to discover his friend's home in front of him. How did he locate the house so quickly? he questioned. It was really challenging to search his house whenever he previously went. In any case, he felt at ease. The door opened when he approached the front of the home and rang the bell. The fact that there was nobody at the door caught him by a surprise. "Brother, where are you, Bikash?" he yelled. He noticed someone standing in the darkness as he entered the house. He heard a faint voice inquire, "Who?" As Ankit drew nearer, he could see that it was Bikash. Also, the room was kept completely dark. Bikash shifted the food toward Ankit without saying anything. After placing the charred meat on his dinner plate, Bikash entered the inner room. This seemed quite odd to Ankit. His conduct was likewise peculiar. His voice seems to have taken on a new tone. Ankit said nothing further because he reasoned that perhaps his friend had a cold throat. After finishing his meal, he entered the room to check on Bikash. His body experienced a frigid current as a result of what he witnessed. His brain started to whirl. He realized that the person in front of him was not his friend Bikash.

The man was eating raw meat, which looked like human flesh, while seated on a bed in a room. What a distorted ghoulish face! Ankit hurriedly went to the door and attempted to exit, but the door unexpectedly became locked. The man kept gazing at Ankit. He abruptly started speaking in an odd Latin dialect. The background was filled with yammering noises. "This cannot be my friend Bikash", he uttered. "It is like a disembodied soul."

Ankit persisted in attempting to open the door. The door abruptly and spontaneously opened. He bolted from the room. He left the house and when he turned around, the house was gone entirely. He was in a cemetery, not a village, at that moment. He still didn't understand who had opened the door for him that night.
