The Masked Man

“No please don’t kill me”, yelled the girl while waking up from sleep. The girl was none other than Avanthika. When Avanthika’s eyes opened, she noticed that her entire body was shivering and that she was sweating during winter. Ever since Avanthika was a little girl, she has been having the same nightmare and has been waking up in the middle of the night yelling. In the nightmare Avanthika always sees a guy dressed up in black, wearing a mask who is trying to stab her with a knife. Avanthika’s parents have tried many therapies and medications, but her nightmares never stopped. Today her parents have appointed a new therapist to come meet her but the only difference will be that the meeting will take place in her Avanthika’s house instead of the office. The new therapist had studied Avanthika’s case and had come up with a plan to get rid of her nightmares. The plan which they had come up with was to recreate the nightmare in real life and to show Avanthika that it is just her friend pranking her. But the therapists and her parents did not know that this was going to be a bad idea. The therapists had paid a man to play the part of the masked men and told him to enter through Avanthika’s bedroom window at midnight. Before heading to bed Avanthika was told to have her window opened so that new weather can help her with nightmares. When she reached her bed, Avanthika had a hard time falling asleep but she eventually fell asleep. Around midnight the masked men entered her room like planned and went towards Avanthika, but what he saw shocked him to the core. There was another person in the room dressed in black heading towards Avanthika, the masked men got confused thinking did they pay another person to dress up also. Due to the confusion, the paid actor headed back just the way he came from. On the other hand, the other guy had reached Avanthika’s bed with a big knife. The masked man took out a rope from his little bag which he brought with him, to tie Avanthika’s leg so that she cannot run away. When the guy started tying her leg, Avanthika started moving due to feeling someone’s hand on her body. When her eyes opened her worst nightmare was right in front of her face. Right when she was about to yell, her mouth was shut by the hands of the masked men. “Don’t you dare try to yell or make any noise”, whispered the masked men in a deep voice? Avanthika got scared and started crying silently. “Stop crying like a baby, and tell me your last wish before dying” replied the masked men in a serious voice. “Can I see your face once before you kill me”, asked Avanthika in a fumbling voice. The masked men thought for some time and eventually removed his mask because it was her last wish and she won’t live to tell anyone who he is. What Avanthika saw made her entire body shiver and then before she knew it, darkness surrounded her.
