The lock shaped love

The lock shaped love

She was wild, almost hormonal; and she was like that all the time. She once got a lock that was in the shape of a heart and had the word "Love" engraved on it.

'For the main door,' she said and batted her eyelashes, 'So people know we are in love.'

'Isn't it too small to be put on the main door?' I said as I turned the lock in my hand.

'No,' she said and snatched it, 'love is the strongest. It will keep everything safe.'

After the burglary, we got a bigger lock and used our "love" lock to tie two clotheslines in the balcony. And then we forgot about it.

Years later when we wanted to change the clotheslines we realized that we had lost the key.

'Maybe I will have to get a locksmith or someone to break this,' I said.

She inspected the lock and then went to our storeroom. When she came back, she had a hammer and a screwdriver.

'Try,' she said and thrust me the tools, 'it's a flimsy lock. You don't need to call anyone to break this.'
