War

They didn't want to hear the secret. They said it would bring misfortune. The secret bearer was banished and the fighting continued.

The secret bearer went to the other side but even they didn't let him talk. They said he might be a spy.

The fighting continued until both the clans were destroyed.

The secret bearer sat by a pond and gazed at a dead leaf floating by. His wife sat by him and said, "They never listen. You never stop trying. Why?"

"If they only listen to the secret, there would be no more wars."

"Do you think they will ever listen?" his wife said putting a hand on his shoulders.

"They won't. And I won't stop trying either."

And so the wars continued every century and the secret bearer, in his different ways, tried to intervene.
