Lost Ties

We hardly spoke after his marriage. I had warned him not to get married as it would curb his freedom. He still did and even told his wife about my advise. Naturally, she hated me.

About a month back, I got a call from him at 3 AM, saying he had divorced. I disconnected the call as he was drunk and I feared he would bug me with his pains. The next morning he called again and he really seemed happy.

We eventually made a travel plan and did a motorcycle trip from Shimla to Manali. The trip turned out to be like what we always did when he was a bachelor.

He is planning a longer trip this winter. Along the Western ghats, he says. Meanwhile, I have met this amazing girl and plan to get married this winter. I haven't told him yet.
