Hey, I think you haven't heard the story of the legendary Mermaya. Well, here it is. Come on!

An unknown game

It was a full moon night. The crickets were chirping and the wolves were howling. This could only mean one thing. It was game night. It was John's turn today to play against the champions. And he lost. Of course, everybody laughed at him so they made him do a challenge. He had to stand outside in the pouring rain. With a speechless reply, he could not do anything. He took a step on the stairs and slowly got out. He was soaking wet. He looked down at his sneakers to see how wet they were. He regretted all of this. Suddenly, He heard a voice from under the ocean. With lots of curiosity, he jumped in.

A splash of a tail

He looked all around him. Could he have jumped in for nothing?

Unexpectedly, there was a giggle behind him. He turned around and saw a mermaid with yellow hair and aqua tail. He looked at her again and asked: “Who are you?”

The mermaid did not answer but explained “You must be suffocated. Let me make you a merman.”

A golden pinch of dust swirled around. John looked at himself and with glee said “This is amazing. I am a merman.”

After that, he asked again,” What is the problem?”

The mermaid answered back,” I lost Whalsley my whale.”

A great rescue

A large blue fin appeared behind the seaweed.

The mermaid, with a cheerful face, said, “Sorry I did not say my name, my name is Mermaya. Who are you?”

“John, I'm John.”, he replied.

The whale was out of sight.

Mermaya mentioned, “I think that he is lost again.”

Her voice got more high pitched as she said it.

“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!” screamed John. “How could you lose him? He was just there a second ago. I can't believe you lost him AGAIN!”

Mermaya did not talk back as she knew it would just make things worse. So she explained, “I will go by myself then.”

“Fine,” said John.

“Fine,” said Mermaya.

Four hours past and Mermaya had not returned. He called out for any answer and even said sorry. But there was no luck.

A herd of seahorses came rushing carrying John on top of them. They led him to a cave and he heard a really loud moan. John instantly knew who it was. It was Whalsley.

John asked Whalsley if he had seen Mermaya. He shook his head in despair but said he had seen Mermaya go into one of the other thousand caves.

John said, “We will never make it. If only I did not argue with her earlier.”

Whalsley said not to worry.

That seemed a little hard for John but he did it. They went from cave to cave. Suddenly they saw a shadow. It had fins, hands and hair.

John was so happy that he did not take time to realize that the shadow was actually Mermaya's sister.

Her sister said she saw Mermaya in the cave next to hers. They all rushed as quick as a flash.

They saw fins, hands and hair. This time they saw Mermaya – Sleeping sshhhhhhh.

Goodbye

Mermaya was finally awake. But that was when John realised it was morning in his human world.

So with a frown on his face, he apologized and said “I am sorry. I was rude earlier. I wish it was not at this time that I have to leave as I did not get to hang out with you but I have to go now.”

Mermaya made him into a boy again and they said their last goodbyes.

John went back up and to his relief, he was just in time.

He will never forget the legendary Mermaya.
