The Last Portrait

Arachne, the mother of all spiders, recalled her competition with Athena, from a fragile cavern below the Labyrinth. Since that day, she swore not to make another tapestry, but as the cavern crumbled away, attracted to the malicious thoughts of the monsters seeking revenge, she decided to make her best piece yet.

Working with inhuman skill, she twirled the threads of pure silk together, dyed them with extreme accuracy, and weaved them in a way where it captures the dim light just right. It was a portrait of her former beautiful self. 

As she gazed at the masterpiece, rippling in the breath of the giant spider(Archne), the cavern crumbled away, and Arachne, with an unseen creation, fell to Tartarus. There was no return and the world would never know the skill of a spider condemned to eternal damnation.
