The Honest Labourer

Ramu shouted at the door, " Gita O Gita darling come on open the door, please. Both of my hands were burdened with heavyweights of a bagful of stuff. " Response came, " OK wait just for a minute. I am feeding my baby. " After one minute Gita opened the door and let Ramu come in. " "Why are you so late today.? It is 10 pm whereas you promised me to come home in the evening. Our son's baby food has already been consumed." Charged Gita, the wife of Ramu. "Sorry, darling for the break of promise. I was late because of allotment of extra duties by the Contractor in spite of my request to go home. " retaliate Ramu while keeping down the tool-bags on the veranda and washing his foot and hand with soap in the washroom. Afterwards, he also put off his protective mask. Again Gita charged with a disgusted tone, " Are you paid for that overtime duties? " " No darling nothing. " replied Ramu in a desperate mood." The wife answered, " Then you are showing honesty to your employer who is always prone to exploit the labourers. It is nowadays a curse to be so honest. OK, tomorrow you ask him about the extra wages" Ramu was puzzled by hearing such advice from his wife. But due to simplicity, he remained quiet.

The next morning the labourer moved to the construction site and asked the contractor for the extra wages for overtime duties. But the contractor refused and began to scold Ramu. Keeping in view his family condition Ramu remained silent and continue his duties as usual with sincerity. By the by one year was completed. One day Ramu's son fell seriously ill due to viral fever and as per his wife's advice, Ramu approached the contractor for an advance of rupees one thousand for his son's treatment. But the contractor refused to pay an advance. Seeing such type of honesty and simplicity Gita went to the contractor's house and requested help. But the exploiter contractor again refused instead he advised Gita to sleep with him for a night wherefore he must take extra care of her labourer husband. So Gita was reactive at such callous behaviour and nonsense talks of the profitmaking employer and complained against the contractor before the Women's Court of Law on the basis of the video recording.

The case which was filed by Geeta an honest housewife was successfully decided and the contractor had to pay extra wages to Ramu. the labourer, and increased his salary also. Moreover, as he was A -Class contractor due to the fear of prestige loss he also constructed a beautiful building for the little family of Ramu. The contractor amended his behaviour and began to be sympathetic towards all the labourers working in his construction site. It was proved that an Indian woman is no less capable than a man if she is supported duly in all respects without any partiality caused from any sphere i. e. Social, Political or Domestic. Then Indian Sanatanis must have the due rights to worship Goddess Durga, Kalee, Saraswati, Laxmi etc.as per Indology. Because the Women Race is the vital stamina of the Global Mankind.
