She was only 18 years old when she met the man she fell in love with at first sight. Both couldn't think of their lives without each other. She frequently wore her green salwar kameez with a green dupatta. The first time he saw her was when her green dupatta flew over his face. But one day they had an argument which led to a fight. In no time these fights became abusive. The first time this happened was when he slapped her so hard that she fell on her knees at a bus stop. With tears in her eyes, she ran to her house. She wept all night. He kept calling her till she was convinced that this would not happen again. However, once a relationship gets abusive it's very rare that the behavior patterns change. It happened again and after every fight, he would physically hurt her and then apologies. One day he almost choked her with her green dupatta. This was the same dupatta that he loved so much. Yet she couldn't let go. How could she after tolerating so much? She thought it was love but later she realized this was an obsession not love. She had flaws, yet this is not the way a man should treat a woman.

Despite being at fault, he was the one who broke up. Shattered and disheartened, she decided to commit suicide. This was when her family, friends and work colleagues helped her get involved in work. She finally moved on.

After a few years, they met again at a bus stop. He inquired about her salary, but she said it didn't matter as she was happy. She asked him if he had a girlfriend to which he replied he did. They said their goodbyes. A few weeks passed. She received an email from him. This email was the first time he apologized for how badly he had scarred her life. She read it and deleted it. He didn't matter to her anymore because she'd realized that their relationship was a mistake. He never loved her. However, this relationship taught her a very important lesson, i.e. to never tolerate an abusive partner. If a person repeatedly behaves violently whether it is verbal or physical, one must step out of such a relationship with dignity.

Today she is happily married. Her husband respects her and loves her unconditionally.
