As many authors defines, social work in their own language, but in simple terms it means, “A person or group of persons work for the betterment of society to help people develop their skills and their ability to use their resources and the same for the community to resolve problems."

According to me, social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline concerned with helping individuals, families, groups, and communities to promotes social change and development, social cohesion and the empowerment and liberation of people. Social work is such a profession which brings change not only in society but the change in one's own life, it is such a profession where person strongly put its points, he is able to see what is right or what is wrong and not afraid to take stand against wrong things.

As we have been witnessed if any injustice happened with any group of persons the first who take charge to ensure that justice to be provided to a needy person or victim by putting pressure on the police, using different social media platforms for spreading awareness among other citizens and sometimes also take help of media resources. As it can’t be denied to say that it not only promotes social change but it uplifts one's own development and in the upcoming time it would be considered one of the best professions for individuals which ultimately resulted in social development. It is evident that many revolutionary social workers have grown up in India and brought revolutionary change for the betterment of the country.

Social reformers like Aruna Roy who is known for her efforts to fight against corruption and promote government transparency, Pramila Nesargi is an Indian lawyer and well known women rights activist, Laxmi Agrawal is an Indian campaigner with stop acid attack survivor and speaks for the rights of acid attacks victims', Vinoba Bhave was an Indian social reformer who advocated non-violence and human rights, Anna Hazare whose contribution in the fight against corruption, Jyotiba Phule whose work revolves around anti-caste campaigns, Baba Amte, Medha Patkar and many more.

Social work: Epitome of Humanity, it is justified by many examples like whenever there is a flood in the country or any amidst crisis arises these persons are the one who without thinking of their lives provide food to the needy, providing shelter to the street animals and many more help done by them. As ongoing covid-19 pandemic across the whole world many social workers many NGO/ foundation as well as NSS volunteers provide help to the country like providing masks and sanitizers to the needy, providing food to the needy, feeding the street animals as well as helping the traffic police officer to control coronavirus and spreading awareness through various social platforms. They perform many social activities like tree plantations, anti-HIV campaigns, blood donation camp, provide medical help to the needy, women empowerment campaigns and controlling violence and discrimination against women etc.
