Who's This?

Kajal was new in town Goa, she came here to complete her master's degree, and after that, she has planned to start her career from this place as well. Goa always used to be too special for her, as at this place Kajal was born. She was 5 years old when she had to leave this place, at that time she with her family went to settle in her new home at Nashik. She has a younger brother and father in her family. Kajal was 4 years old when her mother left her with her 2 years younger brother. After that her father is everything for her. After her mother's death, her father played the role of both mother and father for these 2 siblings. 

Since Kajal was not new to Goa, she was staying with her friend in her old house, where she previously used to stay with her family. When she took her step into her house, her goosebumps raised, she felt like she is still connected with it somewhere. She was slowly moving and taking a tour of the entire house and trying to remember how she used to enjoy it there. She has some good and bad memories connected with it. She was remembering all of them.

She went to her parent's bedroom, where her mom's photo along with her father was still hanging on the wall, which was hidden under dirt and spider's web. She slowly moved towards that picture and started cleaning it emotionally with her hands and was crying along by keeping that frame much closer to her heart. Her friend heard her crying voice, she ran and found Kajal sitting on the floor with a frame which she held tightly close to her heart. She was trying to calm and quiet her down.

Kajal was trying to tell how this happened, how she got separated with her mother. It was Kajal's 4th birthday, her mom and dad had organized a small birthday party in which some neighbors and Kajal's playschool friends were invited. In the evening, when Kajal's mom went to take her birthday cake which she ordered a day prior to the birthday party; while returning home, she met with an accident and due to that, she died on the spot. Accident was so bad and breathtaking that no one could even recognize her mother's face. With some biological signs, my father and mom's family could recognize the dead body and based on which we were able to fulfill the further religious proceedings successfully. Kajal became so emotional and she was blaming herself for not having her mom with her now. She till now doesn't celebrate her birthday, as she was still considering her birthday as the reason for her mother's death.

Both girls were about to get back to their cleaning stuff, they heard a knock on her parent's bedroom door. Kajal asked with a low voice, who's this? It could be any neighbor, or any of her new collage mate, or could this be her mom's presence. For this wait till next part.
