Unfortunately when Charu was twelve years old Mala left the world due to a massive heart attack. All were in deep sock. MrMani was almost in a depression. Charu lost her sweet smiles fromher lips. That time Sheryl was the person who had taken care of everything. She used to console her only son MrMani and motivated him with positive thoughts. She tried her best and brought back MrMani in to his usual work and frame of mind. She used to take the extra care for Charu. She used to help her to get ready for the school. She used to check her home works given in school. She used check the bteakfast, lunch and dinner. Along with this she was taking care of the store too. Sometimes she used to feel tired, but her love and affection for her son and grand daughter never made her to let the tiredness to dominate. Sheryl was always very careful in taking care of Charu. She had given all her love and care to her, so that Charu can't miss her childhood and mother's love. At the same time she took care of her own son MrMani.. Even she advised him to go for a second msrriage. She tried to give very less tension to MrMani regarding the store's business related things. Simetimes she could feel as if her Mani is a small child of seven eight years. Her motherhood used to cry internaly seeing the lonliness of her only son. Her son MrMani slowly started giving more time to his profession. He used to spend very little time with Sheryl and Charu during weekend and interact. He loves his dear daughter and always wanted to give her all the best things in this world. He told his mother Sheryl that he want to see Charu always happy and can do anything for that. Even sometimes he puts his head on his mother's lap like a child and tears roll down from his eyes. For MrMani Sheryl and Charu are the entire world and sometimes he used to ask Sheryl not to leave him and Charu.
Sheryl used to give a little smile and say, "my son I have to leave both of you one day, this is the naked truth of our life. But before that I will see both of you are well sevured. Don't ever be so emotional my son".. These are the thoughts sometimes made Sheryl cry, when she was alone. The past used to knock the door ofher thoughts and the picturesof her own childhood, her parents love, her marriage, her husband, their own family, the birth of Mani, the childhood of Mani, Mani's marriage, Charu's birth, the rituals, the festivals, the parties...... all used to give her streignth and sometimes made her feel weak for a while with some emotional feelungs. She used to keep all these memories within her own book of thoughts. She never ever ler MrMani or Charu to know any of her feelings. She was very strong lady. She had already fixed her goal. Her goal was to to make her son grow with success in his profession and her grand daughter to get all the best in education, wealth, health and career. Her world was around her son and grand daughter Charu.
Charu was always very special to her. Sometimes to release her pains from her mind in night she used to chant small poems in her language and Charu used to listen. Thise lines were not that easy for Charu to understand, but it used to console Sheryl's mind and heart. Some of thise are......
" You made me come alone,
I had everything meant for me
& some were stolen.
It hurt me, but never let me
down,
I struggled and never stopped
lije a pawn.
My life is meant for the
motherhood,
To share, to take care with
love as much as I could.
Now I have my little princess
to grow,
She will be the queen of
many hearts, that time will
show. "
These lines used to bring a glimpse of smile on Sheryl's lips and give streignth to look forward to achieve her goals. She then used to give a little hug to her darling grand daughter, her little princess Charu and close her eyes to sleep. When Charu was in school Sheryl used to attend the parents meetings with teachers. She even talked to teachers for her better education. During Charu's secondary education she had arranged private tution for her. Her son knew that and was very happy to know that his mother had taken care of his daughter very efficiently. Sometimes MrMani used to wonder and feel proud for the works of his dear mother. He used to thank God for being borned to such a wonderful woman.
Charu was a very briliant student of the school. Eith the support of her private tution and utmost care of her grand mother Sheryl, she had scored well and was ranked first in the city in ICSC examination of 10th board. That day was the most happiest day for all. Sheryl was so happy that she had arranged for a small party in her house with family and friends. MrMani too was very happy and planning to get her the best coaching for the next two years. Charu was happy and became consious to make her dream fulfilled.
Charu had decided to be a lawer and to have the best law education. She revealed this to her father MrMani and her grandmother Sheryl. They both had appriciated and motivated her. Sheryl had told Charu to set this as her goal and the next two years will be very crucial for her. Along with her regular 12th examination she has to prepare for the entrance examination for getting admission in to one of the best Law school.
Charu started the preparations and concentrated on her studies. She scored well in the12th examination. Then she applied for the entrance examination for the Law school. First year she got rejected as her age was just less than 18 years. She never stopped there. With the motivation of of Sheryl she again prepared for the entrance and also applied for NYU Law School. Her father was too motivated her. Sheryl told her nothing to be worried about. Initialy she got some objections for getting in to NYU Law School, but with all documental compliance and personal interview through video conference, she got selected for the admission.
Charu was very excited as her dream is going to be fulfilled. Sheryl was delighted with the happiness of her grand daughter Charu and the winning smile on her son MrMani's face. Sheryl could remember the day when Mani got admitted in to the law college and the moments if happiness in her family. Now Sheryl knew that her princess Charu will go away from her to have her studies in law. This thought had given little sock of some emptiness inside her. She will miss Charu's everything. Charu's food habits, Charu's dressings, Charu's smile, Charu's arguements, Charu's anger, Charu's emotions and Charu's sweet tender touch. Sheryl started feeling something is going to be missed by her miserably, but the thought of her princess Cgaru's education and future success forced her to bear all these pains and let her go. To go abroad finance has to be arranged and for that MrMani was getting bit tension, but Sheryl assured him and Charu not to worry. As she was doing savings every month and kept all the money in the bank. That will be more than enough to send Charu to N Y U Law School. MrMani and Charu were surprised. Tears started rolling down from Mani's eyes. He touched his mother's feet, Charu hugged her grandmother. That was a very emotional moment in their family.Finaly the day came and Charu left for her study.
The smart, strong and bold Sheryl could handle everything and she was the solution to each problem of the family was a a real realisation for MrMani and Charu.
Now the same lady, Sheryl is bed ridden with serious back pain and still not lost her hope..... Charu came to see her dear grandmother and couldn't stop crying. She had never seen Sheryl like this. Then she could heard Sheryl saying slowly,
" Don't cry and loose your patience,
You are my darling sweet ptincess.
I know you will achieve your goal,
Don'let these tears to fall.
Be strong and face the world like a winner,
Success will be your's and will never face failure.
I will wait for you and your success,
Don't ever dear at anytime be depressed. "
These were the lines, which made Charu more strong. She prayed for Sheryl. Then she decided to go back and focus on her studies. Also so many other things were asking many questions to her, but still she controlled her anxiety, anger, doubts and concentrated on Sheryl's lines and her plan...
