Revival of Epic

Dear Diary,

Day 5: It has been quite some time since I last sat before the television with such eagerness. Computer and cell phones have taken over TV for me. I am much more comfortable in accessing any information or watching my favorite shows/movies/web series on these media instead of TV. However, since this imposed a lockdown for combating the COVID-19 pandemic, I am trying to keep myself busy through whatever mode I can access now sitting at home. Today, watching Mahabharat (an age-old TV series), telecasted on DD Bharti channel at 12 PM and 7 PM provided a momentary distraction from the otherwise grim happenings around the globe. This particular show had and I believe still has a separate fanbase and followers. It started around the year 1988, long before my birth and was dragged for many yers thereafter. I faintly remember, the tune of this iconic tele series coming from the neighborhood when I was just a kid. Back then there was no TV in our home, so I didn't have any scope of seeing this Tv series. However, today after so many years, the concerned authority has decided to re-telecast the show under the present circumstances. I appreciate the decision as both myself and my parents indulged in watching the show and needless to say enjoyed it also. I've read Mahabharat as a teenager, but as it is suggested visual memory is more long lasting, I hope to remember the nuanced tales of our national epic through this TV series this time.
