I was walking alone in a dark alley at night, and the street was eerily quiet, except for the sound of my footsteps echoing against the walls. As I turned the corner, a group of shady-looking youngsters caught my eye. They were huddled together, chatting and laughing, but as I got closer, I could feel their piercing stares on me. Suddenly, one of them pushed another, causing him to stumble and fall right in front of me. I tried to ignore them and continued walking, but their vulgar curses followed me as I quickened my pace.
I thought I had left them behind as I turned into a more populated area, with cars passing by and people walking on the sidewalk. But my relief was short-lived as I heard thundering footsteps behind me, someone was running towards me at breakneck speed. My heart raced, and my body froze as I felt an overwhelming sense of dread. I wanted to scream for help, but my voice was trapped inside me. I felt like a puppet on a string, controlled by an unseen force.
The runner was almost upon me, his breaths ragged and heavy, but he passed by without even a glance. I stood there, in shock and confusion, watching him as he ran towards the
square. Suddenly, a luxury car came speeding towards him, but he didn't even flinch. The car crashed into him, but he remained unscathed, as if he were made of air. I couldn't believe my eyes, and my mind was in a state of utter chaos.
The runner turned towards me, and his eyes locked with mine. He waved his hand in front of my face as if to check if I could see him. I was too stunned to react, but I managed to stutter, "What the hell is going on?"
He smiled and said, "Welcome to the world of the dead." My heart sank as his words echoed in my mind. "What are you talking about?" I asked, feeling a mix of fear and anger.
He explained that he was inviting me to join him in the realm of the dead, where he had no physical body that could be harmed by anything in the world of the living. I tried to punch him out of frustration, but my hand passed right through his face like a ghostly apparition.
He continued to tell me that in the realm of the dead, we could see each other, but we couldn't touch or harm one another. I still couldn't wrap my head around what was happening, but I knew one thing for sure - my life would never be the same again.
