The letter carried brief instructions: 'Meet me at the corner of the street', it read. But who was it from?want to know‽ let's go back to the year 1919 a day before the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that is 12th April 1919. Time was 7.46 Darshita a girl from Dharavi, Mumbai came to Amritsar for journalism about, the problems faced by Indians for attaining freedom from the English. In the narrow passage to Jallianwala Bagh a kid was dying in hunger , searching for his mother to feed . Darshita took 2pieces of roti and gave that to the child. She sat beside that child and was watching the way he eats. His father is a dhobi who wash clothes for upper caste people and gets his pay . Though they said to be upper caste but, not by heart. she asks about the child's life and promises him to make sure as a great man to this world.

she stayed in their house which was 100 meters away from Jallianwala Bagh.

Next day when the sun was about to hit 6 the child's father went for work and mother started her chores in house. Darshita and that child were sleeping. Darshita woke up at 8.20 and the child too. After eating morning breakfast (stale Chappathi with butter and sugar sprinkled on it) ,she and the child were playing outside and his mother came out of the house to see their playing. Just then a news was said by a announcers saying that, ''evening there is a meeting held at Jallianwala Bagh. All people are said to join in this protest''. After the announcement vanished child's father came with a big catfish. ''I'm going there Reavathi. You stay here and look after these two children.''

''My lord come back on time...we'll be waiting for you.''

''papa, please don't go ....stay with us here ...please ''.

'' No my son, I've to go as it's our time to remove those weeds (the English)from our field.''

Before leaving he called Darshita in his room and gave a piece of letter.

''listen carefully, if I didn't return back give this letter to my wife. ''

''But,why dada you're saying this..!!''

''shh...keep it secret. For my family let it be untold one''

He left the house. That was the last time Darshita saw him with smile on his face. Reavathi and Darshita was busy in cooking and the child was playing outside with a street pup. It was around 2.50 everyone had lunch and was traveling in a nap. The meeting was going smoothly in that garden, many children and peoples were there. They were speaking about 'what to do, next?' It was around 5 the Brigadier general R.E.H Dyer came with his troops to clear that meeting. The kid saw the jeep passing through the way, and ran into the home to inform it.

''Oh God, why has he come here?something is wrong!!''.

''Nothing is wrong, you don't worry aunt''.

''God only wanna save us from those demons.''

The general Dyer with his troops blocked the main passage, without any order he,commands his troops to fire on those people . Everyone started to die. Some tried to escape, some drown into the well to save their lives. The troops kept on firing until their ammunition was exhausted. That child's father dhobi man was injured. 1500 were dead and 1200 were injured. Hearing of those gunshots ,Reavathi left the house to save her husband. She said Darshita to take care of her child. Darshita was strong until ,she saw Reavathi shot dead by a Gurkha. She immediately started packing to leave and took the child along with her. She ran carrying the child on her back bone and reached near railway station and got two tickets and boarded into the train. They reached Dharavi and reached to Darshita house. Her parents welcomed her but ,seeing the child ,there became a big problem. Darshita narrated all what happened and why the child is here.

That child went for school and was great in schooling . He started writing poems against the English and, also a love letter to his mom and dad to return back soon. He went to Delhi for higher studies and completed with securing 1 rank in college. As usual a girl from his schooling, Ishu fell in love with him and he does. Both of the families accepted for the marriage and the marriage was over. After 2 months Darshita became ill and was admitted in the hospital. Soon she recovered from that but, died on April 13 . Ishu was pregnant and delivered a beautiful girl child. she named her as Darshita.

The child soon started her schooling life and then the college life. After finishing the college life her father became ill .When she was cleaning her father's room she found a box and showed that to her father. When he opened the box ,he found a letter which was yellowish in colour. While studying the letter his eyes rolled down with tears. The letter read ''Meet me at the corner of the street '' which was written by his father saying,

To my king,

'' I don't believe I'll come back but, for freedom and good future to upcoming generations it's a gift to sacrifice my life. I know my son one day or the other you'll see this letter, and shed tears. I can feel that your hearth is breaking into pieces. Don't worry about me my son ,this is a brave sacrifice done by me . You take care of your mother as ,she is a another child to me, don't leave her at any situation because she grew you up . And also another mother from another blood whom you've played when you were a kid. Darshita promised my words . She took you to show what is world filled of. I've met my street and by this it ends. Let the India breathe fresh air ,Bharat Matha ki Jai.

                           With love,

                           Raj Singh .

After reading this letter rolling back to his childhood to present, tears flooded and this lead to clouser of valve and died.
