Prized Bicycle

All Graffiti artists of the city are assembled together on a Sunday morning. It is the day of an unusual street art competition which is conducted every year. The winner gets a cheque of Rs.10,000/-

Sam, the budding street artist is one amongst them who has come to participate in the competition. Usually, people are well prepared and come with many creative ideas on their head. But it was not the same with him, he saw about the competition on the front page of the newspaper while he was having his morning tea, and rushed to the venue as quickly as possible driving his car. He wanted to give it a try and with his best efforts.

Each participant has the right to choose the location where they are going to paint. As it is more crowded, Sam decided to select a corner that turns right into a narrow road where only pedestrians and bicycles are allowed. He chose this place with the idea that people can get attracted to his art. Next to the road, is a small grocery store. He is nervous minutes before the competition is about to start, as he is not sure how he will outperform others.

He sat on the white stone near the corner of the wall to think for a minute what he is going to draw. Then, he painted the whole wall light blue. Next, he took white paint and started drawing two wings. The two wings, according to him, represent the readiness to fly to the new world. He painted red color to the border of the wing, blue and white color for the inner and outer feathers. He completed his painting right on time set by the judges. He is informed that the judges will take some time for their decision and announce the results in an hour. Sam decided to have something to eat as he remembered he had skipped his breakfast.

In the meantime, a man with a bicycle approached from the narrow road to go to the grocery store. There was no place to park near the store as some kids were playing cricket in the streets. He was in a rush, so he parked his yellow fancy bicycle next to Sam's graffiti.

Colorful graffiti will truly change the loud, vibrant jolt of the cities to a beautiful city and be a fantastic subject of photography. Photographers think that all the artists have an interesting story to tell behind this form of art.

When Sam came back after eating, he saw a big crowd queuing near his piece of art. He also noticed a fancy yellow bicycle near his art becoming the center of interest to people. They are trying to capture the perfect picture by taking selfies, holding the wings, or standing near the bicycle.

Meanwhile, the man comes after his shopping and is shocked to see a lot of people posing near his cycle. He had no clue what was going on. Sam saw the man and predicted the cycle belongs to him by his wondrous expression. He went to him and explained about the competition and what had happened. The people thought his bicycle is a prop of street art.

Sam told him to bear with him until the winners are announced and then he can take back his cycle. The man agreed. He smiled by seeing the people going crazy over his bicycle.

After a few minutes, Judges announced that Sam was the winner of the street art competition on the basis of majority votes and he won a hefty cheque amount. Sam decided to give half of his prize money to the man as his bicycle played a pivotal role in the competition. To his surprise, the man not only refused the money but also asked Sam to have his bicycle as the prop for his street art. Sam gifted his car to the man as a token of love.
