Our Little Group

After a prolonged wait of two years, we - me and my two best friends from school days created our own private group on Whatsapp. We were always in touch with each other and our bond has been forever intact. However, we were never ready for a private group on Whatsapp.

Since we never had mobile phones, let alone social media during our times, the three of us are only used to in-person meetings. We could only visualize us meeting in person. That is why perhaps, although we use technology pretty well and also kept in touch with each other, we never got over our obsession to meet only in person as a team of three. 

Given that we live in three different time zones and the impact of the pandemic has almost killed the idea of travel at least for now, we decided we had to do something about it. Thus was born our own little, private group of three.

When we had our first conversation together today, it gave us a fulfilling and extremely happy feeling. We were emotional and elated. Quite surprisingly, it not only felt we had spoken just yesterday but also that we were meeting in person. 

We smiled at our prolonged wait. We also regretted we did not create our group much earlier.

In life, sometimes, we humans have the tendency of waiting for a perfect moment to act. It is not wrong but to blindly wait and not adapt to circumstances and make the best of the moment is not very wise. We could have waited for another two years for a perfect in-person meeting, but of what use is it when we let go of all the opportunity we have in the present - to see, to talk, to laugh. 

A vision of a beautiful future does not ever have the right to disown the beautiful present.
