Let Us Debate

Since my childhood, Debates have always been a self-declared subject in my curriculum. I have always been fond of Debates, elocution, essay writing, poetry, and the like. But, Debates hold a special place in my heart.
My first teachers in Debates are my parents and my sister. After preparing my contents for the speech, I always rehearsed in their presence; they would patiently listen to me and give me valuable suggestions, amazing ideas, and crucial inputs. My mother would pray for every contest I went to - motivating me to be confident and deliver good work.
Debates have taught me quite a lot. Not only have I honed my speaking and articulation skills but also my listening skills. Further, I have learned all about perspectives and opinions and made peace with them. Debates have made me a mature and a good decision-maker. Therefore, to say that participating in Debates improved my personality, on the whole, would be absolutely apt.
A decade ago, when I had to make a decision about my career - I wanted to have a combination of an application of technology and the opportunity to present/speak/write etc. Love for Debates and the journey itself had made me obsessed with my loved hobby. I did not know if I would succeed in finding a role so fulfilling that it included such a combination- being a fresher with zero experience added to the fear factor.
My mother's faith and prayers, constant inspiration from my beloved parents and loving sister, and my consistent efforts actually helped me land the job of my dreams. It gave me the courage of a couple along the way too. Honestly, there has been no looking back. One opportunity after another it has gotten much better.
The tiny efforts I put since I was a child paid off in a huge way in the long run.
Do you also have a much-loved hobby that is now an integral part of your profession? Isn't that too lovely?
