Just imagine what happens if one fine day LIFE decides to take back from you everything you have earned so far and you have to start from scratch? Sounds daunting, isn’t it? Let’s figure out what our friend Megha discovered during her journey.

Megha had everything in her life, one could ask for. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Born in a rich family, extremely gorgeous that one ends up being mesmerized meeting her. What made her special was that she was a born dancer. She was often referred to as “God’s Special Child” by her friends, family and relatives. Needless to mention Megha was the apple of her parent’s eye. Her Life was often referred to as “Fairy Tale”. Her success was the result of enormous hardwork she has logged in and her parents who had been the encouraging and supporting pillar for her journey so far. She breathes in and breathes out her passion for dance, for her DANCE WAS LIFE. She always dreamt of opening her own Dance Academy.

The proud parents flaunted the numerous trophies she won at various concerts. She and her parents always dreamt of her winning Internation Dance Award and her dream was just a few days ahead as she was invited to participate in this mega event.

It’s been rightly said “The only constant in Life is Change" and Megha did not have the slightest idea how the upcoming incident shall shatter her life completely. While returning from dance practice she and her family met with a car accident her parents died on spot, while Megha somehow survived. Now she was completely on her own without her supporting pillars. To make things the worst doctor told her due to the accident there was some serious leg injury and hence was advised not to dance any more. She felt as if someone has asked her “STOP BREATHING”

I’ll give a leap of 7 years to this story; I got introduced to Megha through a common friend in a party as an owner of famous “Dance Academy- Dance Your Way” and renowned choreographer in the industry. My friend told me about Megha’s journey so far, no doubt I found her to be the perfect topic for my new article. I was owe-stuck by her persona and took an appointment for a small meeting. She readily agreed for the same and invited me to her home the next day for breakfast.

My host had a beautiful home with positive vibes within the house. Surprisingly there was a big poster in a frame on one of the walls stating “The first and most important person you believe is in yourself” It had a small caption down below “Dear Megha, Always, Remember this. Lots of Love – Papa, and Mumma. Interesting I thought to myself and there was my host greeted me looking as stunning as always even without makeup. Dressed up in a normal tee and track pants she looked like a girl next door, yet she was different.

After having a wonderful breakfast and tea we seated ourselves in the beautiful balcony facing the sea. I asked her after the accident how she turned herself into this “Famous Choreographer”, “Winner of International Dance Award”, “Owner of Dance Academy”

She revealed to me how after the accident she was completely broken, shattered, depressed, she also thought of committing suicide as per her LIFE WAS OVER. Not only did she lost her parents but her dream too. Due to leg injury, she had to withdraw her name from the contest. As such she was undergoing the emotional turbulence, to add to her worries she faced financial crises too. Due to the recovery of the bank loan (her parents have taken), it was getting tough to keep our head up to meet the daily and her medications expenses. Due to some savings, she managed to get a roof on her head however darkness has seemed to spread its wings around her completely.

It was not only the physical pain she went through but more than that it was mental pain.

Then something happened which changed her LIFE ever.

She remembered her Papa told her they had got a small gift for her upcoming birthday. She found a poster and letter in her stuff. It was the same poster neatly framed hanging in the hall and what about the Letter I asked? She handed over the letter to me, it read as below”

Dear Megha,

We just wanted to say Thank You for coming in our life, we feel blessed to have you in our Life. You have given us so many proud moments (including winning the International Dance Trophy {Megha interrupted me by saying they were confident she will win the trophy even before the contest), we are sure you’ll add more feathers to the wings. Tomorrow we may or may not be there around you but that should not stop you from taking your journey ahead. Sounds difficult? Don’t be because today we want you to share you a “Secret” about your Success. Your Strength to achieve the impossible has been the Self Belief that has helped you to reach this level.

We all have great inner power. That power is “Self Belief” Self Belief and Hardwork will always earn you success. Self Belief is like an engine of your life that determines your journey towards the light. Don’t let anything come between you and your dreams, not even your FEARS, FAILURES. Make your SELF BELIEF shield to protect your dreams, make it the foundations of your Success.

Self Belief is the base of Life, you remember how you often complain about Pizza’s base not being good, that spoils the entire Pizza, irrespective of lavish and good toppings, Lifeworks on the same formula. Last but not least If you believe in yourself anything is possible.

Go and achieve your dreams.

Lots of Love

PAPA and MUMMA

As I finished reading this letter we both had tears in her life and then Megha continued this letter was the stepping stone for her 2nd inning. She decided she is not calling for QUIT, NOT TO LIFE, NOR TO HER DREAMS.

This letter was a blessing in disguise shared by her parents as if they knew she would require it.

She got the push she needed, however, things were not so easy for her, she was living the life she never thought she could.

There were times when she wanted to give up, yet she kept herself pushing harder and harder. What made her keep moving was her dream!!! Even today the poster and her parent’s letter are the inspirational sources for her.

After the accident, her aunt flew down from the US, not only as her guardian but also as her mentor. Though she got emotional support from her mentor, yet her struggle continued.

Once she was on her feet, to keep the income flowing she started taking dance tuitions for kids, elders, participated in small events, birthday parties etc.

She got a small break when she somehow managed to get an opportunity to perform in the dance reality show. (She was referred from the host of one of the birthday party where she performed). Not only did she won this show, but it also opened the opportunity gate for her.

Where there is a will there is away.

After years of hardship; she not only won the “International Dance Trophy” but also started her own “Dance Academy – Dance Your Way”

I got up to hug her and thanked her for sharing her journey with me.

As I was making my way to head home, I could just summarize my meeting with Megha in the single phrase ‘She Believed, She Could, So She Did.
