My Star...

I looked up at the sky…

There were a lot of stars that night in the sky. And they were shining more brightly than any other day.

It may not be true, but, at least it appeared to me, that “this night is special in some way”. 

The night was very dark, with the sky colored with shining dark blue in the symphony, and, stars were shining brilliantly. Perhaps they were happier that day and were expressing their feelings with the intensity of their light.

That night… it appeared, as if, they were celebrating the arrival of one of their dear loved ones… And that’s why they were partying hard, to welcome their new friend who, from that moment on, will be one of them… And will shine, as brightly as his friends up in the sky.

From that moment on, he too was a star.

They say that people who die on earth go up to heaven… and become a ‘Star’.

And then they shine- “as brilliantly as they are” -forever and for eternity…

That night… I looked up at the sky…eyes filled with water…

Stars were shining more brilliantly, with all their intensity…

to welcome their new friend.

I searched through the sky… hoping to find someone.

There… quite afar… “I saw a star”… surrounded by a lot of stars from all around.

Each was shining brilliantly.

But, in the middle of all… there he was, “who outshone every one that day…”

I looked up directly at him… seeing that, “he was now with his new friends”,

and, “he was happy”.

A twitch of vanity crossed my heart… and I could feel the pain within.

but, I too felt happy for him…

I knew that he was looking at me… and, passing me a smile…

I could once again feel his love…

A teardrop rolled down my eye…

Looking directly at him… I smiled back…

and said – “I love you too…”
