My Jolly, Over-dramatic Christmas!

I got up at 7: 30 on Christmas Day. I was going to cook Christmas Lunch. Yes, a huge, four-course meal. I made roast chicken, chicken broth, garlic bread, baked carrots and potatoes, and a cinnamon cake. Lunch was a success. My parents quite liked the meal, especially the garlic bread and roast chicken. I had decorated the house with tinsel (while tensely standing on the top step of my ladder), and I had hung a few baubles on the tiny Christmas tree from last year. I had gone through a long battle with my parents about getting a bigger tree, but they just wouldn’t budge!

In the evening, I went to play with my friends. We had a Christmas party late into the evening. We played Christmas carols on the phone and started bopping around not at all caring about the carols’ beat. We simply played the carols to make the party festive.

We didn’t go out of town this Christmas, but I went to the mall with my mom and had plenty of playdates. On New Year’s Eve, my parents and I watched a movie, and gave up staying awake till midnight at 10:30. I secretly stayed up till 11:58, but unfortunately, I dozed off after that.

This Christmas was different because it was my first meal-making experience and my first Christmas party. I hope I’ll cook up some big and tasty meals in future Christmases. But for now, happy 2022!
