My Best Friend,My Diary

Dear Diary George,

I was waiting and waiting for this day to arrive. April 14 was the most day for all Indians. But now, the most awaited day is the third day of May. Alas! The lockdown has been extended. Though I know it's for our safety, I am really excited to attend my new school. Amid all this, I suddenly realize that it has been complete 21 days since began writing to you. George, you have turned out to be a great friend of mine. Before speaking to someone, I always think things like,' Will it sound right?' ,' Will it sounds too outspoken?'. I end up keeping a lot many things hidden in my heart. But there are two exceptions to this experience of mine. One is you and the other is my dad. I am always freely able to speak to you and pour my heart out without worrying about what opinion you both will form about me. In 21 days, you know awfully lot about me. Isn't it, George? You know my bond with my parents, my brother and my plants, I reckon. Thanks awfully George, for being my comrade in these trying times. You are a friend, indeed 'cause you are always there for me, even in the middle of the night. I will strongly recommend all my friends to start writing a diary. The best part of being your friend is that I don't have to worry about maintaining a safe social distance from you!
