Monna's Kindle

Monna laid on the bed, lifeless!!, waiting for the death, to be precise. She was full of life and vibrant energy, until life took a toll as if it was angry and wanted to take revenge on this beautiful lady who never stopped until the doctors diagnosed her with a life-threatening bone cancer. Little did Monna knew that she would lie on the bed like this even during the daytime, which she had not even dreamt of.

It's been 2 months since she was diagnosed, and it was stage IV, no hopes except counting days, Monna thought. Breaking her thoughts, came her mom's voice insisting her to take tablets and drink milk, which she did take, and laid back with a deep sigh!! and a smile, which would put Mona Lisa to shy.

The next morning, when mom came in to check on Monna, all she could find was the lifeless, face lit with smiles, Monna had bid her last good bye to life. Mom went out to call all the family members. The hospital personnel came down to unpack all the necessary medical equipments from Monna's body. At each of the tubes, Monna had left a note of gratitude for each and every person in her life who had helped her to cope up with this situation. Hospital personnel were in tears and were about to leave after collecting all the Thank You notes, when one of the nurses was unable to detach the tube from her body, the male staff came in to help her and was amazed to see that the tube was connected from Monna's body to outside the window. He tracked the trail pretty easily and heard Meow!!!! from the other side of the window pane.

To his surprise, he could see a Kindle of cute little kittens, playing with the tube, governed by the majestic mom, who was trying to ooze the milk out from the tube that was attached to Monna's body. Slowly, Monna's mom realized why Monna used to insist on drinking the milk all by her own after taking the tablets. Monna used to pass on the milk through the tube that was attached to her body and passed it outside the window to feed these cute little Kindle of kittens, who needed the milk most than Monna, she might have thought, pondered Monna's mother. The loud Meow!! woke Monna's mother from her deep thoughts. She stopped the personnel from detaching the tube from Monna's body and passed the milk from the tube, which the Kindle drank happily, one after another. This went on from generations to generations, kindle to kindle, unaware of the fact that the little Kindness from Monna towards the Kindle shall be continued ever after....
