The animals had pleaded the lion to not wipe them out and hence, they suggested that every afternoon one of them would present himself before him as his lunch. So the lion stopped hunting and started to stay in his cave. Everyday, an animal would come and lion would satisfy his hunger but one day, his lunch was late. After abut an hour of waiting, a rabbit came. "He is so tiny and so late. These animals need to be taught a lesson" lion thought.

Rabbit wished the lion and the lion held its small white tail under his mighty claws. "Why are you late? Don't you respect your king?" the lion asked.

"I'm sorry, His Royal Highness. I left on time but was stopped by a new lion on my way." Rabbit explained.

"New lion?"

"Yes, he is new in the jungle and is much stronger than you. He also said that he's the new king." the rabbit answered. "When I asked him to let me go as I am your food, he said that real kings hunt their own food."

"How dare he said that!"

"Yes, he only let me me go to deliver you the message that he wants to fight you and prove his supremacy." Rabbit said.

"Yes I would like to show this child his place. Take me where he is." the lion commanded.

Rabbit took the lion across the river to a well. "There, Your Highness. The new lion in his this fort well."

The lion jumped on the wall of the well and roared that echoed back with stronger intensity. "He does sound stronger but don't worry I can defeat him in seconds." The lion said after listening to echo. He jumped into the well to fight the new lion that happened to his own shadow. As he hit the floor of the well, he couldn't jump out and hence stayed in the well.

The animals thanked the rabbit.
