Boatman

Once a man went to boatman as he needed to cross the road but the boatman was hesitating as it was about to rain but the man convinced him. As the boatman was rowing, the man asked if he knew astrology. When he denied, the man commented, "A quarter of your life is wasted."

Then he asked if he studied grammar and language but he denied again. "Half of your life is wasted," the man commented.

It started to rain. The man asked if the boatman at least knew to write in his mother tongue, but he denied again. "Three quarters of your life are wasted," he commented.

"Sir, the rain is getting tough. If the boat flips, we'll need to swim to the other side," boatman said.

"But I don't know how to swim," the man replied.

"Then your entire life is wasted," boatman commented.
