Lazarus Pit

Lazarus Pit

It was cold dark November night. The chilling nature that night, even kept the homeless away, warming on the flames of a piece of birch. The wind was rough, and it seemed as if it did whisper----

I brought the car to a halt. Jim was at the back seat, drowning in the ocean of deep sleep, rather peacefully. I carefully brought him out of the car, and left him to ease there in the wheel chair.

"Don't worry Jim. I am here"- I whispered in his ear. I carried the wheel chair through the stone paved pathway, lit up with my flickering torch. The thunder burnt trees seemed to welcome us. It was quite tough for me to carry Jim on that off-road, but I have to.

After a while, there I saw the backyard, and the pit? Where is it? There, right there. The Lazarus Pit.

I kneeled down on the ground, tears rolling down my cheek.

Father Gregory's words reared my mind u, and it reverberated ----

"Ugarit of Mot. His son, Samiard died while Battling the Ephraims. Ugarit's heart broke into pieces. His only son was no more. He was becoming completely insane when one night, Lord Abraham showed up. Ugarit was a man of kind heart, honesty and loyalty. Abraham once boondocked him.

There, seeing Lord Abraham, Ugarit couldn't control himself. He kneeled down at his feet and prayed to get his beloved son back. Lord, then narrated him the way---

Go, find out the old ancient pit. The Lazarus Pit, which has that green holy Lazarius water in it. Dip you son's corpse, and he will return----return----return--"

Hooting of an owl, brought me back to my mind. No, I have to hurry.

I laid Jim on the ground. He was still asleep, peacefully.

Getting the nylon rope from my bag, I tied it round my little brother's waist. I assured him once more. "Hey buddy, don't worry at all. Everything's gonna be okay-----"

I pulled him towards the edge edge of the pit. The rope began to work on the pulley. Jim slowly disappeared in the coal darkness. Now. now a matter of few minutes. He will surely return. surely.

Quite a few minutes passed by, but no sign of Jim. I was almost traumatized and was breathing heavily, I waited eagerly, grasping the wooden edge of the Lazarus Pit. I could feel the tears rolling down my cheek, turning my collar wet.

That was the moment I suddenly heard little Jim's chuckles! He was coming back, he was returning! He was slowly crawling towards me---my that little Jim, who once left me all alone on this planet-----------
