Day 17th of lockdown

Dear diary

Today, after about 10 days I had my enjoyable cup of tea. Enjoyable because after about 10 days I had my milk tea boiled with lots of ginger and fresh tulsi leaves from my balcony garden. And that's because I bring milk when I get my groceries, that's about once in 7 - 8 days and yesterday was the day.

As we are heading towards the end of the 21-day lockdown, everyone is buzzing about its extension. Lots of speculations floating in the air.

The upgoing straight line of the Covid_19 refuses to hit the plateau.

It has resulted in a brutal situation that we never could postulate when we decided to spend days locked in our houses.

We were spending the time eating, sleeping, having quality time with our family, posting a picture of ourselves in our different moods ....boredom, happiness, creativity.

We were complacent that our citizens will be saved from the atrocious spell of the virus. But we never realized that fighting one pandemic will give rise to the other which is equally devastating if not more.

Brutal recession, hungry and homeless wage earners, thousands of jobs at stake, the crash of economy resulted in a precarious situation across the globe.

There are thousands who are losing their livelihood and pushed to the brink of starvation.

As the homeless, jobless., hungry migrants rightly say if the virus doesn't kill them .... hunger will.

After the age of the Epic Mahabharata .....

We are standing at the threshold of Dharma Shankata .

This is the time when a moral dilemma is coiled across the ethics, the decision is Perplexing.

But we should keep in mind that this world needs living beings and not only coffins.

As it is rightly said, " Jaan Hain to Jahan Hain ".

If we live, we will be able to face any grave situation that comes across.

And at the present situation, we will be able to combat the deadly virus if we stand united and help the needy and feed the hungry with whatever resources we have and to our individual capacity.

Let's be hopeful, let's be positive, let's be united, and let's help the ones who need us to make them feel that they are not ignored and they are as important citizens of this country as the rest of others.
