If only!! ( prompt -23)

Meera was 21 year old young dynamic girl, her impeccable sense of dressing was a cause of envy to many. But no one knew that it was all a facade, in reality she was suffering was depression since past 7 months . She was facing significant change in sleep, appetite and was having anxiety .

She was desperate for help, she disclosed it to few of her closest friend and family and they all discredited her, not taking much notice of her, because according to them going for clinical help was looked down upon in the society they live in, they told her to watch less of telivision and electronic media as according to them all this was the root cause of it all.

One and half year later, she continued to mask the facade, but with time the depression had only became worst, she was loosing her concentration, she had no interest in any activities, she was continuously overeating and thus the once sleek and stylish person had lost her charm, she was now an obese person, she was fighting her inner demons everyday.

Her loved ones were still unable to understand what was happening , as even after all this mental health issue was still a taboo for them.  And one day she just could not carry on.

If only they could understand, if only they would had heard her desperate cry for help another life would not have been lost. If only they could understand that just like physical illness, mental illness too needs treatment and their is no shame in asking help.
