Bleeding Children
Bleeding Children
There are many incidents which leave a lasting mark on you and one the incident which personally affected me the most was one of the most gruesome attacks ever taken place in human history. It was the 2014 Peshawar school massacre, where six gunmen from TTP conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the Pakistani city of Peshawar killing 149 including 132 school children.
The terrorists bearing automatic weapons opened fire on children in the auditorium, in the classroom, one teacher was set ablaze. Stories of such gruesomeness was never heard before. The attack went on for 3 hrs. and those 3 hours were like eternity to the helpless parents lining in front of the school praying, praying desperately for safety of their children.
What followed was endless debate in the entire world, which went on for months discussing the measures to be taken about safely of children in schools, gun laws, terrorism, political stability of Pakistan among other things.
I remember been away from my family during those time, I remember having sleepless nights for many many days and constantly wondering about the parents of the deceased.
It's been 8 long years since the incident and I still wonder if the parents of those children were able to move on, were the children who survived the incident came out of the trauma. I pray to God to never ever let any such incidents take place in entire humanity because it's a scar which can never heal.
