Love Beyond Borders...

It was the year 1988, Missy Jones then 19 was on a student exchange program to Delhi for one year and one fine day while exploring the city got her portrait done by Madhukar Yadav then 21 an artist based in the city.In true Bollywood fashion, they fell in love at first sight and wasted no time in getting married. When it was time for Missy to leave for Austria. Madhukar couldn’t accompany her because he was still in his final year of art school. Instead, he promised her that he would finish his studies, then save enough money to reach Austria by himself.

After finishing college, however, Madukar realized that he might have spoken to soon — it was going to take him forever to collect enough money for the trip. Missy had no souce of income as she was an orphan who was still studying and Madhukar came from a LIG background, he used to live in an old shanty with his parents. Not one to break his word, Madukar bought a bicycle and cycled all the way to South India requesting government and various NGOs to sponsor his trip, he soon became the talk of the town, but there was still a long road ahead.

Finally, after the long wait of 2 year, in the year 1990 an NGO came forward and helped him in getting his tickets and visa, and in those 2 years he has saved enough money for his future expenses. 

Once in Austria, they rented a food truck and stared their own business of street side Indian food, slowly but gradually their business grew and became a success.

Today, Missy and Madhukar have and been happily married for over 34 years and have totally embraced each other cultures. Love truly has no borders.
