Welcome again my beautiful people. I wish from the bottom of my heart that you all have a fantastic day ahead. May you find success in whatever task you take on today. So, I must update you all that yesterday’s dog incident was blown into an entire proportion issue in our society. So yesterday evening Hansika, Aprajita and Madhu came to see me. They all were concerned that yesterday’s incident could be dangerous for any of us in society. The dog needs to be trained to be amongst strangers. And fortunately, or unfortunately, our community does not have a secretary or a management committee yet to whom these complaints can be made. So, we all are on our own. My assessment of the issue was that we can speak directly to the owners as whatever little conversation I had with her yesterday she was a warm lady. But no one was ready to talk to her and they kept insisting to me that I should have a word with this new lady. Now I really do not mind talking. I have handled many conflicts successfully in the past in our family and in our society, but you all know Jagdish. He feels I am always unnecessarily interfering. So, I just choose to be silent over the issue.

“Mummyji will be feeling garden inside to take up this issue on behalf of society. But Papaji won’t allow her. Huh na mummyji.” That’s my darling daughter-in-law Sheetal. She loves to interfere in my decisions. I will tell you all a secret that she is very jealous of my popularity in society. But sometimes whether I like it or not she says the truth which even I am not even ready to admit. I cannot talk to the new lady without Jagiya’s permission.

“Hina we will talk to Jagdishbhai. You call him now. Also, you are unnecessarily scared of Jagdish Bhai. Today morning I heard him saying to the lady that this could be dangerous for kids. So, he will support you. See that lady has not met anyone of us. You both had a conversation yesterday and that dog really harassed you.”

“Hina it was such a scene to see you running in your own society like a mad woman with a sari in one hand trying to save yourself. It must have been such a traumatic experience for you.”

And hearing this Sheetal again started laughing and ran into her room. I did not know how to react to these comments and just then a doorbell rang. I quickly got up to open the door and I was glad that I got a chance to avoid the topic. And guess who was at the door? It was the new lady whom I went to see in the morning.

“Hello, Hinaben. I am Payal your new neighbour. Thanks so much for the theplas. They were tasty. I have packed some delicious Sandesh for you and your family. And I have come here especially to apologize for this morning’s incident. My pet Tommy takes time to adjust to a new environment, and new people hence he got very hyper this morning. Otherwise, he is quite friendly. And just a word of caution so it helps, he feels very threatened whenever he sees yellow. And you wore a yellow sari today morning, so you see he got so aggressive.” I was speechless hearing this. Dogs also are emotional with colours I never knew that. Madhu, Hansika, and Aparajita heard the conversation. Madhu just could not stop herself, so she came to the door.

“How is this fair that we all must be careful not to wear the colour yellow? You need to train your dog. What happened in the morning is just not acceptable. Tomorrow the dog can bite anyone. Who is going to be responsible then?”

“I never said that do not at all wear the colour yellow. All I am saying is wear yellow at your own risk.”

“Huh? You are too much. Hina what you are standing like a boot. The dog was after your life. You also say something.”

“Arre leave it na Madhu. Payal Ben has already apologized. She is our new neighbour. Let’s all together welcome her. Payal ben I cordially invite you and your family to my grandson’s birthday party. It is this Saturday evening. Please do come ok. It is here only in our home. This way you will get a chance to meet all the other neighbours also.”

So, this way the entire dog issue was kept on a back burner, but this is my home. How can another issue not erupt by itself? The moment guests left sheetal vav came charging in to talk to me.

“Mummyji what was the need that you invited that new neighbour to my son’s birthday party? I am the main organizer of this party, and I will get to decide on the guest list.”

“So, the problem is not that I invited her, but I did not ask you before inviting her. Aakash is my grandson also.”

“Yes, unfortunately, you are the grandmother, but you forget I am the mother, of India. Rather than paying attention to my son why do not you pay attention to your darling son who is soon entering the books of Guinness record to watch the highest number of videos on the internet.”

My son Sameer is a very kind man, but Sheetal is always complaining about him. He is very enterprising, hardworking, and smart but is taking a very long time to understand what exactly he wants to do in life. Jagdish is also very unhappy with him that he is mostly at home thinking about new business ideas and spending time watching movies, web series and videos on the internet. But no one understands him the way I do. I am very confident once he decides to do something he will really do quite well in his life. He should be given enough time. Jagdish tells me I am simply pampering him. I do not know about that, but he is my only child and as a mother, it is my birthright to pamper him.

And Sheetal still continues…

“By the way Mummyji. How come you choose to become such a softie in front of that new lady? Our neighbours for a change were right. This issue should be raised. What if that Tommy bites our Aakash then? Aakash loves wearing yellow colour so why should I stop him from wearing it just because Tommy does not like yellow? This is ghor injustice. If you will not raise the issue with her then I will take a mahila mandal morcha to that Payal’s home. The dog needs to be trained.”

“I never knew this moment will come in our lives sheetal vav that I will ever agree with you. I too did not feel right by not raising this issue with Payal ben. But she had come to give Sandesh and say sorry, so I felt little bad. And she was also trying a lot in the morning to control her pet. Anyways but let Aakash’s birthday party get over we all ladies will go to her and tell her that something needs to be done.”

With this, I end my diary today. I am really looking forward to sharing with you all how we celebrated Aakash’s birthday. Till then Jai shree Krishna and Bye.
