It’s Well said that life is a journey and one needs to enjoy each and every moment of this journey till it reaches the final destination.

What if this beautiful journey ends with a destination beyond your expectation, a memory mark in memory lane!

For me , Being wanderer by nature and irrecoverably in love with mountains from the very moment I had my first hill station visit, I love everything about hills and it’s life.

So whenever time allows me a breathing space, I use to choose an excuse to breathe fresh air at hill side.

Coincidentally , it so happened that me and my family had some breathing space for few days on a hot summer month. Based on some acquaintance’s suggestion we decided to plan a short trip to Ravangla , one of the less known places of Sikkim.

To be precise, Our actual journey started from Bagdogra airport , with a pre booked Sikkim taxi and Gagan, who apart from being driver also a part timer local band singer with a passion for soft melodious music.

Once we left the vicinity of Bagdogra, the road started to unfold it self. Endless stretches of greenery , cool breeze mixed with nostalgic Arijit singh’s voice were gliding along with our taxi, with us.

Soon after to complement the nostalgic journey, Teesta river starts following us with its rhythmic yet energetic movement.

The route started to glide through the lower eastern Himalayas mountain range (Singalila Ridge) with hills and Teesta river forming formidable guards both side.

Colourful flags were fluttering in the air to dispel all the negative energy. A murmuring sound of bells chiming and flags fluttering floating around us, calming each and every piece of our  nervous system.

Kids returning from school were so happy that it was reflecting from their bright glowing faces. With a big bright face few used to wave their hands towards us.

When Breathe taking endless beauty stretched in front of us , gliding with us, it’s difficult to not to be immersed in it and forgot to count the time.

We reached our hotel around 6 o’clock in the evening, somewhat bodily tired due to journey exhaustion but mentally energetic. Narrow lane in front of our hotel was completely empty with few street dogs roaming around. We were told by the hotel staff that , the famous Buddha park was already closed. So better to visit there early morning.

But we thought of walking outside as the quiet road and buildings reminded me of some European village. The silence and chilled weather was refreshing for city dwellers like us.

While walking leisurely, we reached at a point where the outer boundary of The park started.

It was pitch black inside. Light was very low due to heavy fog. We were chilled to the bone and also scared in a dimly lit lonely street with few street dogs as the only companion.

We decided to return back and were about to leave the place when as if by miracle something strange yet stunning thing happened.

There was commotion in front of us in the pitch black canvas (where the actual Lord Buddha statue stood in the park)  happened, by unveiling the thick fog veil for fraction of seconds.

Lord Buddha’s all glittering statue was visible. It was radiating at it’s brightest, as if dispelling all that is dark / negative around it.

And then before we knew whether it’s dream or real or feel our breath, it was gone in thin air.

We just had a glimpse of God without having chance to say or ask anything !!!!
