Babu - Chapter2

It’s early morning. Babu is sitting on the veranda leisurely watching the garden. Babu’s father being a high positioned administrative officer has a bungalow quarter with garden.

The bungalow is situated in a small town surrounded by hills and greenery.

Babu with half open eyes looking at the scenery blankly without understanding the beauty of surroundings much.

“Babu brush your teeth. Go and get ready for school “.

Babu sighs and stands up. He reluctantly goes for brushing. After taking bath and arranging school bag he goes to kitchen.

“Maa, what’s for today. I need aloo paratha for tiffin.”

“Do you have your school bag ready. Today you have paratha and Subji with sweets. I will give aloo paratha tomorrow. Have some breakfast. Father will drop you in school.”

While having breakfast Babu can hear father shouting.

“All of my pens’ nib are broken. It must be Babu’s doing” . Where is he now. Babu , Babu come here.”

Babu becomes scared and doesn’t respond. He can here his father’s foot approaching. He starts running out of fear. His father goes after him. 

Babu feels helpless as mother won’t help him now. He starts running around his father’s car. Father tries to get hold of him but finally becomes tired and give up.

Seeing this, Mother intervenes saying “it’s already late. Please drop him in school. He won’t do it in future.”

Father though angry and tired considering the time starts the car and ask babu to sit in the back seat. “Next time onward if you ever touch my pen, you will be punished. Father warned him.

Babu looks relieved. “Well done Babu. “ he says to himself and smile while sitting comfortably in the car.
