Freedom Comes With A Price, With A Heavy Price!

Tarun was an independent and successful businessman who was in need of his freedom from all that he was entangled with. Life had offered him everything in abundance - money, success, career, growth - everything, everything, everything but...

"What next?" Tarun would ponder.

His employees would obey him and they would bring desired profits. A man in his thirties would definitely be overambitious, but his wants were always hovering around him.

Every morning it was Priya, his wife to remind him that she too existed in his life. The only moment when she could see him with ease. "It's everything for you my love. If I am busy, it's just to secure your future," was his every morning argument.

In his palatial mansion, it was the northeast corner where Priya spent most of the day. A small Puja place was prepared as Priya had demanded - the only thing she had demanded ever! Her heart would cry out hard but tears were not allowed. Idols were 'idler' than they would be. 

"If it is me for whom Tarun has become so money-minded, then I need to break the clutches. He must be freed." Priya always thought. "But how?" 

Priya took the toughest and the most unexpected decision. She asked Tarun to give her a fortune of money to start her own business. She could convince him by saying that she would contribute her part to Tarun's aim of making her future safe. 

But her plans were different. She made sure that her business would see the highest profit. She made herself so busy that the only morning time that the couple would spend together had become once in a while. For a month this did not affect Tarun. But Priya was sulking. 

Day by day Tarun noticed Priya's absence at home but it went unnoticed that Priya was losing her health. She was carefully doing this. 

After a year, Priya had to be hospitalized for her ill health. Tarun stood by her day and night. Doctors did their best to save Priya's life. But the efforts were in vain. 

The previous night, Priya spoke to Tarun for a long time. Her face lightened with a smile and it was because Tarun spent all his lifetime with her during those 20 days. Tarun was a different person all these days. He had hardly bothered with his business or money. His eyes were seeking Priya. Her last words were, "Tarun, finally freedom is yours. I wanted you to be free from all the entanglements of your life. Promise me that you will never call money your priority. Spend time with me forever." 

Priya eyes were closed but Tarun's eyes didn't know what to express! He understood one thing very clearly - Freedom comes with a price, a heavy price.
