Filter Coffee

Filter Coffee

Today I had the best coffee my mother made for us. Be it the coffee or every dish she prepares, it tastes delicious and we always want more of it. She ensures she cooks keeping three elements in mind - health, nutrition, taste. And of course the whole experience.

It was naturally quite pleasantly surprising when she mentioned that she was going to make enhancements to her coffee. My darling mother patiently explained that she had been doing a research on making subtle adjustments to the "Filter Kaapi" and that she was finally ready to experiment.

I always thought that the coffee she makes is simply too good to even require any minor enhancement. Anyways, I waited.

This morning, it was an out of the world experience for me when I tasted my mom's new experiment- revised Filter coffee.

Adjustments may be very few and subtle too; however, the final outcome made a world of difference. I hugged my mother tight and we enjoyed the wonderful coffee moment.

My amma and the coffee experience taught me a priceless lesson- That if you have a skill you are good at, it always helps to work towards improvements and therefore doing a better job. Like my mother rightly put, it is hardwork, consistency and passion that lead to perfection. Such sincere attempts also help to keep complacency and boredom at bay. My super talented mother showed this by an impressive example.

Today is thus a gentle reminder for me to pick skills I have and talents I am blessed with and work on making improvements.

What about you? Do you also make it a point to work on your existing skills?
