Falak And Palak
Falak And Palak
Palak: Today our teacher told us to remind our parents about the parents teacher meeting on Saturday.
Falak: Yes, and tomorrow is the last day to pay the money for the educational tour.
Palak: Yes, thanks for reminding.
[A poor girl passes by with a vessel full of water]
Falak: look at that poor girl. We are so fortunate to go to school.
Palak: It is the government's fault. More than half of the money is spent on the army. There are so many sick and uneducated people in India but the government is not doing anything about it.
Falak: It is easier said than done. I am not saying that you are wrong but can we compromise on the security and protection when you have some or the other attack taking place every other day?
Palak: Yes, you are right but can we then compromise with education and health? How can we say that they are less important? Can we deny the level of corruption that takes place in every corner of our country?
Falak: I feel we need to sit, think, discuss and debate on this topic. Then we will able to decide how the money can be distributed.
Palak: Along with this we, common people, can do our bit to improve the situations of our country. Instead of applying for jobs off shore, we should work in India eventually increasing taxes and helping children to enroll in schools and helping the sick to get adequate medical facilities.
Falak: We can also build our own schools and hospitals with the help of Non- governmental Organisations and donations. This would be our contribution towards a better future of our country.
Palak: If we, students, can plan so well then just imagine what would we do when we turn adults?
Falak: We will turn adults later but in one hour we have our tuition and we need to hurry up. So bye.
Palak: bye.
