Faith

At the age of 62 Manoj Mishra is very active and never thought of a retired live. He believes that retirement is nothing, but a thought that make anybody feel useless for any work. He had lost his parents ling time back. He too had lost his wife Arpita 18 years back. Since then he had taken care of his son Ashok and daughter Sushama as a single parent. He had never joined any government job and made his carrier in Sales and Marketing after completing his degree in Business Management. After the demise of his wife for sometime he was disturbed, but for the sake of his children. Both Ashok and Sushma are qualified engineers.

This morning Manoj was watching the national news in his television screen with the tea cup in his hand. Suddenly he heard in the news the names of top ten candiates, who had qualified as civil servants in the UPSC examination and heard his daughter Sushama's name, whose ranked 8th position. He stood up and called his daughter with a joyful note. Sushama came with her walker and was about to show the mail received from UPSC, Manoj hugged his daughter and told, "I am proud of you. You ranked 8th in UPSC and it's declared through morning news buletin. I am very happy today."Then Manoj sat on the sofa. Sushama came to him and said,"Yes Dad I did it. I was coming to you to show the mail received regarding this from UPSC. Your strong Faith and motivation had made it pissible for me."Both father anf daughter were having tears in their eyes. That was the tears of happiness. Then Manoj told his daughter to inform Ashok, who is working in a MNC and posted in Gujurat. Sushama left the place giving Manoj some time to be in his own space.

Manoj closed his eyes and went in to his memory lane. He was in the year Ashok finished his engineering and got a job in Pune. Manoj was very happy and blessed Ashok for his future. After a week Ashok left for Pune. Sushama was in her 2nd year of engineering that time and was staying in her college hostel. Manoj gave the good news to his daughter. After two years Sushama finished her engineering in Bio-Medical and joined in one of the best hospital. Within a years time Sushama became a big asset to the hospital. Her innovative ideas and inteligence not only helped the hospital to improve the image, but also it had helped many patients lives. Manoj was then a very happy and proud father. His both children were doing well in their profession. But still, Manoj was continuing with his profession. Two years passed. Manoj started thinking of getting his both children married. He started looking for various proposals. In the mean time something made his life again miserable. Ashok had come to be with them for few days with his annual leave. Suddenly while driving Ashok had a brain stroke and was rescued by some public. Manoj rushed to the place and get Ashok admitted in the hospital Sushama working with. Manoj was very upset and started crying like a child. Then he consoled himself. All the specialists started giving treatment to Ashok. Ashok's left side was paralyzed. After 7 days he came out of the ICU. Then the physiotherapist started his treatment. As per his advise Manoj contacted the best rehabilitation center of Asia to give treatment to Ashok. Then he took him there and stayed with Ashok for three months. In this process Manoj left his job and started working as a Marketing consultant. Ashok recovered 97 percent and Manoj brought him home. Ashok wanted to join the job, but as doctors advised some rest from mental stress, Manoj advised to wait for some time. But Ashok started doing some work from home. As he was a Mechanical engineer and done MBA, he started doing drawing and design for some companies. One year passed again Manoj had a big blow. His lovely daughter suffered seriously to save the life of a patient and went in to coma. She was in ICU. All the doctors told Manoj for 15 days that they are trying their best and nothing can be said. Manoj was very upset and asking God, "why these problems to him?" All his friends and relatives indirectly told him not to waste time and money on his daughter. But Manoj never listened to anyone. He was having a strong faith that his daughter Sushama will make a come back. Everyday he used to visit his daughter in ICU and speaking in to he ears, "You are a winner. You can do it. You will be normal."Others in ICU used to look at Manoj and feeling very sad for him as a helpless father. He was saying to all that his daughter will recover. He was saying that he has beleive in his Faith. All used to listen to him and saying Manoj as a desperate father. But Manoj was not feeling so. After 45 days his daughter Sushama recovered. She came out of coma. Then she was in the hospital for another three months for further treatment. In this process Sushama lost her ability to work. With the physiotherapy she improved and started walking with the support of walker. Manoj brought her home. He always used to talk to her all pisitive things and motivated her to prepare for competitive examinations. Same thing he told to Ashok too. But Ashok never listened and he wanted to join his engineering job. Ashok got a job in a MNC and joined in Gujurat. Sushama tried for civil service examination of UPSC and on her second attempt now got it with an all India rank of 8th. Sushama always had respect for her father's Faith. As Manoj always used to say,"Faith is nothing, but beleief in unseen which all of us are doing it from our birth. But as we grow due to some influence of negetivity that Faith becomes weak. That leads then to failure, disgrace, frutration, etc. So always make your Faith stronger and stroner. "This attitude of Manoj had proved everybody wrong in case of his daughter Sushama's case and his Faith won. Sushama came out of coma and now a qualified I A S officer.

Manoj just opened his eyes and saw his dear daughter standing with her mobile. She gave her mobile to Manoj. The call was from the doctor, who was doing Sushama's treatment. He was saying to Manoj,"Congratulations. Your strong Faith has won. You set an example of not only as a good father, but also as a good motivator. Do keep it up." Manoj smiled and saw the smile of happiness on his daughter's face.
