Destiny's Duo
Destiny's Duo
In the busy streets of Mumbai, where the echoes of honking horns and the sight of busy traffic filled the air, two souls were going about their lives unaware that a journey had begun, destined to intertwine their fates.
Chapter 1: First Impressions
In the streets of Mumbai where noise and hustle is present, meet Simran Khurana. She is totally different from the people around her, standing quietly and observing the world with her thoughtful expressions. No one ever has an idea where she exactly is at the moment, one could find her under a streetlight sitting on a bench reading a book even when it's midnight.
She has bodyguards all around her each time, whether she's in her piano class or a golf club. Even after having all the wealth, she never is the one to brag about it. People find her each Sunday distributing food to the poor people and spending time with the kids in an orphanage.
She is a total sweetheart, a trustworthy and loyal person. People also call her the 'all-rounder' as of her being perfect at everything. People set her as an example of beauty with the brain.
On the other hand, meet Siddharth Malhotra. He is the total opposite of Simran. He's a rich guy, always busy with his important stuff.
You might see him in fancy clothes, having branded items walking fast with a phone in his hand. Always having a serious look on his face, like he has no time for nonsense. Sid is into football, a real player on the field but when it comes to love he has no interest. He thinks that it's a waste of time.
One mistake from someone and that person is gone, he takes everything seriously and is no joke. Despite his tough exterior, there's more to him that we are going to find out.
On a cold winter morning. Simran finds herself getting ready for college, doing all her skincare and packing her bag, not only with books but also with skincare, a MacBook and her iPad. She gets into her car but doesn't go directly to college, of course stopping at Starbucks for a cup of coffee is essential for her, especially in winter.
On the other hand, we have Sid rushing to get to college having phone calls and other important work to handle at the same time. He has no time for anything and gets on to his brand new Kawasaki Ninja H2R speeding to college like there's no tomorrow.
Simran is a new admission to the college but not Siddharth. He was the most popular boy in the whole college, known for his skills and aggressiveness. No one dared to argue with him. His looks made him even harder to get as he had no interest in love. Walking her way to class Simran had her favourite book in her hand while eating chocolate, while Siddharth and his friends were coming from the other direction, almost like skating in the hallway. As a result, Simran and Sid crashed into each other.
"Watch where you're going!" Shouted Sid as his so-called skating was interrupted by her. "Excuse me? You're the one who's jumping and running like a monkey in the hallway, you watch where you're going!" Said Simran. Before Siddharth could say anything, the bell rang and both of them left. Both of them were sitting with their friends when they heard an announcement. "We request Siddharth Malhotra and Simran Khurana to reach the principal's office immediately." Since both of them were in different classes they had no idea that the other one who was called was none other than the one they crashed into. Siddharth reached the office immediately as he knew the way to the office because his father was the principal. "May I come in sir?" Asked Simran. As soon as she entered there was a shock on both of their faces, Simran being shocked to see Sid sitting in front of him and Sid being shocked to see Simran entering.
"Finally both of you are here, nice to meet you Simran I'm the principal of this school, this is my son, Siddharth."
Before Sid could introduced himself they heard someone entering the room. "Hello Mr Malhotra, I'm here, sorry for the delay I was stuck in traffic, Mumbai of course." It was none other than Simran's Father. It turned out that both of their fathers were very close childhood friends and that's why Mr Khurana made Simran come into this college. Unfortunately, because of this Simran and Siddharth had to meet too. They looked at each other with a death stare, it was clear that they were the rivals now but couldn't show it.
In the lecture halls, they engaged in heated debates, their voices rising above the din as they argued over everything from politics to philosophy. In the cafeteria, they traded barbs and jibes, their friends looking on in amusement as their verbal sparring matches escalated into full-blown showdowns.
Chapter 2: Reluctant Collaboration
On the second day of college, they were introduced to a craft competition, it was for a fun gift to the choir of the Church. Their professor told them that this activity would have partners, a duo activity. Everyone was happy to hear that until their professor said that he will decide the duo. They have to make a city-type project using crafts and will have a time of one week.
Their professor, Mr James, started taking out two chits from two boxes and announced the names. Simran's hands were trembling thinking who her partner be, consider it fate or bad luck, was none other than Siddharth. Both of them looked at each other in disappointment.
With a heavy heart, Simran approached Siddharth, her voice laced with thinly veiled contempt. "You, I need your contact number," she said, her tone sharp and dismissive. "I want to win this competition, unlike you, so we need to work on it."
Siddharth's expression hardened at her words, but he offered her his contact information without hesitation. "Yeah, whatever," he replied brusquely. "Here's my contact number and address. We'll be doing the project at my place, 5 p.m. I don't waste my time, so be there."
Simran nodded curtly, resisting the urge to roll her eyes as she pocketed the slip of paper. With a final glance at Siddharth, she turned on her heels and made her way out of the classroom, her mind already racing with thoughts of the daunting task ahead.
That afternoon, as Simran stood outside Siddharth's imposing mansion, she couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Little did she know that their reluctant collaboration would mark the beginning of a journey that would challenge their preconceived notions and change their lives in ways they never could have imagined.
Chapter 3: The Sabotage
Both of them were working on their project, Simran was working while Siddharth was playing games on his PC. "Are you just going sit there like a dummy and play games instead of helping me? It's a group project if you know." Said Simran as she needed some help. "Why is there even my need if you've already made half of the project, still fine I'll come." Said Siddharth in a tired tone.
He got his friend's call and was helping and talking both at the same time, talking more and working less. "Pass me the glue gun" said Simran but Sid didn't even hear that." "I'm talking to you, pass me the glue gun, quick." She repeated again. "Oh goodness!." Said her as she reached for the glue gun but so did Siddharth. Their hands touched and Simran felt a blaze in her hand, almost like she was out of the world but acted like Nothing.
The day of the competition was there, Students of Havenwood were all set for the competition. The excitement was in the air as all of them started setting up their projects. As they made their final preparations, a sense of anticipation coursed through their veins.
As the competition got underway, Siddharth and Simran watched the judges coming towards them. Simran's heart was pounding. She opened the project and to her horror, their project had been sabotaged. All the intricate details were ruined and the project became a disaster. Tears started coming to her eyes and she started crying in disappointment. Everyone in the room was shocked about this. Siddharth's fist clenched at his side, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. He banged the table and it was clear that he was determined to find out who had done this.
He went to the CCTV room to watch who had done this, and to his shock, it was his close friend Amit. He ran to him and held him by his collar saying "You dared to ruin the project even after knowing it was mine?" Said Siddharth in rage. "Relax bro leave me, I was kinda jealous and I just ruined the project anyways you're not into these things right." Said Amit is trying to get out of his grip.
"Just?" Said Sid in a questioning way.
After a few hours, Sid came up to Amit with a grin and a paper in his hand. "Here, congrats, you're expelled from this college. Better luck finding another college." Said Siddharth while handing over the paper to Amit. "What??? Are you serious? Bro this wasn't meant to be taken this seriously I was just a joke I'm sorry bro." Said Amit with trembling hands. "Relax bro, I've JUST expelled you, you can definitely find another college right." Siddharth literally ruined Amit's whole career as there was no other college in the same field in the entire city. He went over to Simran and said, "Geez, stop acting like a kid, forget all of it anyways, I've cancelled the competition."
To be continued...
