Day 2: Red: Yes, Passion Is The Key...

The perfect example to quote for the choice of the title is the story of Charumathi, the daughter of a poor juice seller. The father could never afford his daughter's expensive studies school and coaching. Yet, there was one thing he could afford to give her: the spirit of relentless passion. It aided her to achieve her dream.

She cleared the NEET exam, which required her to enter a medical college. It is one of the toughest exams in the country. She prepared for the exam in a house packed with seven other members and that too, in one room.

Her story is nothing short of inspiring. In her village, it was forbidden for girls to study beyond school in prestigious institutions in the cities. She fought social evil with her hard work and determination so that even girls can achieve success in higher education. 

Times had never been good for her family. They lost their house on the banks of the Adyar river when a flood destroyed their village in 2015. Relocating, to a Perubakkam house provided by the government, she compensated for her fortune by working extra hard and securing a seat in a government medical college-Puddukotai.

The red of the Navratri symbolises her passion and zeal to uproot evil.
