Chapter 13 - The Legacy
Chapter 13 - The Legacy
I had completed my studies in Occult and demonology then and attended many lectures, I completed my internship too.Uncle Rudra would take me with him to near and far-off places to fight spirits, ghosts and dark entities.
Along with him, I learnt many ways, ancient rituals, chants and spells. I always adored his calm and patient attitude. People called him crazy, but loved him as well, since childhood I have seen him helping people, saving their lives from the captures of the dark entities.
He was a saviour for the villagers.
Though I understand, this might be considered superstitious and many would not believe in the existence of any dark entity called ghost and spirits. But how can I not believe my eyes!
Uncle Rudra always said,"There is always an existence of truth and falsehood in this world, the light and darkness co exists,if God exist, Satan exists too."
One night I returned to my home and was peacefully sleeping when I saw mist flooding my room, in a trance, or as if in a figment of my imagination, I saw a shadow.A shadow which was an emblem of peace, serenity and patience.
Uncle Rudra appeared in my dream, his spectral form shimmering in my room, slowly he approached me and stood by my bedside, his eyes glowing with spectral light. he stroke my hair calmly.
In a deep voice he uttered,"You are the heir," he declared, his voice a hollow whisper. "Take my mantle, protect the world from the unseen."
I woke in a cold sweat, the dream vivid, unsettlingly real.
The next morning the news came - Uncle Rudra was no more.
His passing time confirmed the exact hour of our spectral meeting.
Was it a premonition, a final message from beyond? Or a spirit's desperate plea?
The weight of his legacy, a burden and a promise, settled upon my shoulders.
