Business And The Peon

Once there lived a businessman who was very rich but still wasn't content with his wealth. No matter how much he earned he would have an urge for more. He would start his day by setting a goal and wouldn't get a sound sleep before counting his daily gains. Sometimes he was so paranoid that he'd sleep in his office. One such day he noticed his peon. After he finished his work, peon asked to leave. The business agreed but secretly followed him to his house. Peon's house was very small and almost like a hut. But to the businessman's surprise, he seemed very happy. He watered the plants around his house and then played with his kids.

The businessman thought of a plan. The next day, he hid a pot with hundred coins near his house. Peon found it and although hesitant in the beginning, he decided to keep it. He counted the coins and then kept them under a cupboard. The business was watching it. He entered his house and asked for water. "I was just passing by, thought I'd meet you," he explained. Peon was joyful to treat his guest. While he left to get water, the businessman removed a coin from the pot.

After having some conversation, he left. By that time it was night, Peon took the pot out before sleeping and started counting coins. He was stressed to find a coinless. He kept changing sides but couldn't sleep. Businessman peeped it through the window.

The next day he told about his plan to Peon and asked for forgiveness. Peon pardoned him. Businessman learnt his lesson that satisfaction is the key to happiness.
