Blood Red Lipstick - Chapter 5 - The Cab Ride

The journey, To The Khatri residence, was a scary one, The C.I.D team had split into two Taxis. The first taxi consisted of Shalini, upesh, Varma, and Adhya. I will go into detail about this in some time. the second taxi consisted of Aaron, Vishal, and Armite As they left Vishal and Shalini Exchanged a word.

Shalini said, "Keep an eye on Aaron, There's Something about him that just does not strike me Right."

Vishal nodded, even though Aaron was his Old Friend, there was something about him that did not strike him as normal, as if he was hiding something from them.

                                                                  Taxi - one

Shalini sat in front of the Wagon R. She looked out of the window. Once again, she was disgusted by the pollution levels there. Shalini had been in C.I.D for the last 6 years. She was their lead superintendent for this case. She had seen quite a lot of gore, over the years. she had herself lost a partner in the Dadar Gunfight. Her partner, Parvati, had been caught by a bullet straight in the chest. the memory was traumatizing, But it was a soldier's duty.

Soon Upesh, Varma, and Adhya Were immersed in Conversation. Upesh asked Adhya,

"How's Vikram?"

"Oh, you know the usual, tantrums about wanting to go to the office,"

Varma said, "I swear kids are the hardest bunch, my class just won't stop talking."

Their conversation continued, Shalini gave up trying to focus on the case, and she joined in on their conversation. Shalini knew these guys since the beginning when she joined. they were good friends, ever since Parvati died Shalini tried not to make deep connections with anyone, but these guys were the only exception. Suddenly a rip was heard, and the car jerked forward. before Shalini had time to digest what happened. Shalini lurched in the same direction. the car spun out of direction. everything went in a blurry of lights, she heard multiple Screams and Swears. the car skid to a stop. 

When The spinning stopped, Shalini looked at the driver just to see if he was okay. That's when she realized the Blood soaking his white shirt. Her eyes widened in Horror. the windshield was broken. A sniper. The others saw the danger. Shalini applied Pressure on the wound. Truth be said, no matter how much experience you had it was always terrifying to be in a situation like this. the bullet made a clean hole through the man's chest. Shalini's heart pounded, it felt like she was reliving the memory. the wound was too deep. she told the driver,

"Come on, Hold on We will get you help."

But the damage was already done by then. The driver's terrified eyes slipped out of focus. he looked peaceful. his body went limp.

Aaron, Vishal, and Armite got into the Ola. It was just the 3 of them so a small car would work. Aaron and Vishal sat in the back, and Armite say in the front. Aaron looked as calm as a tiger about to pounce, But that was his normal face. Aaron was actually, terrified, he had accepted the fact. that Saanvi had died and looked like he was dealing with it really well, but every minute there was a virus eating at his heart, reminding him, that because of him Saanvi had died. every hour, he reminded himself that he would kill the Serial Killer. Make him suffer, feel every inch of the pain that ripped apart Aaron. 

Nobody in the Cab spoke. the driver tried to, but he realized that the people in his car were pretty serious. So he shut up. Aaron looked out of the window, but his mind was not focused on the pollution, his mind was reliving his best memories with Saanvi. 

he remembered the first time they met; Saanvi was 23 years old. with her light, fluffy, neck-length hair. her black eyes. her wheatish complexion. the second she entered the room all eyes were on her. She stood at around 5.5 in height. her clothing normally ranged from Jeans and tops to formal dresses. Saanvi had met Aaron at an interview. She was a journalist. She was interviewing him. They kept tabs on each other. they kept meeting and soon fell in love with each other. 

SUDDENLY, the world disappeared in a flurry of lights. a big boom echoed, the car was tossed, and the world went black.

prologue - The sniper said into the phone, "Mission accomplished, They are down."

the voice on the other end said, "The games have begun, hide the body. let's see how smart they are."
