Binge-watch
Recently a friend of mine mentioned to me about taking a day off from work and binge watching her favourite TV show. She particularly emphasized about how binge watching kind of contributes to better commitment levels.
I thought about it and decided to try it myself, but with a twist.
In the last one year I read several books on self-help, personality development and inspiration. After thinking for a while, I decided to write my personal book summaries of the books I read in the last 1 year. More like a set of key takeaways and important points to remember and learn.
The whole exercise was so powerful in that it helped me revise such good content and also see for myself if I was applying many tools that I learned correctly. Additionally, each time I wanted to pause or even stop , I pushed myself to keep going. Now, I have invaluable personal notes of the last year reading sessions.
This exercise improved my commitment level because I kept going until I covered summaries of all books from last year; enhanced my confidence because I can now recall many points and names of the wonderful authors and hence, it forms a good basis for many a conversations in future. Further, I decided to add more techniques into my daily life which I am sure will boost my productivity.
Have you tried binge watching a TV show or tried doing something on a consistent basis with little or no break? If yes, how interesting/challenging was it? At the end of the day, did you enjoy it?
