Beautiful Redecoration
I always believed that some people just walk into your life to decorate it beautifully. Shivi was my best friend during high school. She had a twin brother but I had no idea about it. We three studied in the same class but I never knew he was her twin. One day, when Shivi and I were walking down the road, I saw a truck running her over. I shouted for help. The ambulance came, I sat with her in it and we went to the hospital. There, I attended to her before anyone from her family came. It was then I noticed her brother looking at her worriedly. I was puzzled but I knew that it was not a situation to clear my doubts.
I used to go as often as possible to visit her and see that boy. However, the doctors kept me away so that she does not get infected. I used to bring her favorite chocolates so that she recovers fast. It was just another day that I was cycling back from school when I missed Shivi. I decided to pay her a visit when I saw her parents and the boy crying. I then discovered Shvi was no more and my heart sank.

While I was struggling to resume my school, I found the same boy waiting for me at the school gate. There, he handed me a card Shivi had prepared for my upcoming birthday. Before I could open the card and cry, he revealed it to be the secret. That he was her twin brother. I understood everything then. From cycling back from the school to sitting beside each other, we bonded. We chatted, missed Shivi and laughed at her silliness.
On the day of Rakshabandhan, he handed me a Rakhi and told me I had helped him miss Shivi a little less. I had helped me cope up with the passing of Shivi. I chatted and laughed with him like a sister. It struck me too that the relationship we shared was so beautiful. We shared the pain of each other. We also shared our happiness (Shivi) with each other, though unknowingly. That is what brothers and sisters do. They share things and they help cope up with difficult times. At that moment, I realized, some people just walk into your life unannounced. But they decorate your life beautifully.
