Time

It was the time when I was promoted to class 12. My parents asked me to work hard this time. I didn't listen them but was busy loitering with friends. Most of my classmates had joined reputed coaching institutes like FIITJEE, Resonance, Aakash, etc. Looking at them, I felt that their life had become a bore. Study in the school, then revise at home, then go to coaching, again revise coaching notes and finally catch up with all the homework. So tiresome and dull life! For me, hanging out to new places with my friends was my only life. Slowly, the dates of the examinations were nearing. I had scored low in all my Comparatives and Pre-board examinations. Seeing the dates of examination approaching, I knew no worries still. But gradually, all my friends confined themselves to their homes and started studying rigorously. Fear struck me for the first time in my so-chilled life. What will happen to me after the twelfth examinations? All my friends will go their separate ways, to advance in their careers.

It was then I realized, time and tide wait for none. I did not know what to do. My parents then advised me to utilize the little time left. I started studying and taking help of online educational platforms. When the results of the examinations came, I passed with first division. I realized the importance of time and that things, if not done according to time, would become a useless endeavor. I finally realized the importance of time. Time gone can never be gained back. Time that is approaching can never be held.
