Anamika

    Nirmal was a very good student. He was also a district level football player.

 He had completed his school final education in Brajaraj High school in his native village. Then he passed ISC from SCS college in Puri. He studied BA(Hons ) at Nayagarh college. Then he went to Santiniketan to study P. G level Odia literature. He had enough curiosity to know new things. He new stitching, cooking, swimming, plumber work, electric work, carpenter work, gardening etc. He was a good orator, writer, singer, painter, performer and many more. In one word he was very much talented. He remained always in Jolly mood. He was very much active. After all he was a man of principles.

     But now a days, in his old age, he was spending his time by watching TV, reading magazines, newspaper, writing for magazines, gardening and gossiping. Gradually his activeness was decreasing. Always he felt tiredness. Most of the time, he sat down alone in his chair, thinking a lot. Anamika didn't know what he was thinking always. Sometimes, he had come to help Anu in the kitchen. Sometimes, they were discussing on several topics such as current events, news political issues etc.

      But Anamika went on observing him all the time. She was afraid of his illness. Actually when he suffered from serious illness, no symptoms of his illess could be found previously. But at last he was admitted directly in ICU. But Anamika didn't share her fear with anybody else. She shared this only with her intimate friend Santiniketan. She used to express her pain before God.

Anamika tried her best to take care of her husband, Nirmal. In spite of every possible care, it couldn't be said what would be happened. Sometimes many types of negative thoughts were come to her mind. She didn't get peace of mind only for this.

     Time was rolling on its own way. Anamika was busy not only with her house hold works but also with her writing. Anamika woke up early in the morning. This was her child hood practice. But Nirmal woke up late in the morning. Their life was going on as usual.

     Anamika loved to visit new places. But she couldn't get any opportunity for this. Now her younger daughter daily told her by phone to come to her house. This time, Anamika had decided to go there after her husband 's eye check up. Nirmal told that he didn't want to go.

      But Anamika wanted a change in her day to day life. She gave one portion of her house in rent. Luckily she got a good family for it. Then Anamika and her husband mixed up with them very well. . Anu thought that now it was good opportunity for her to go anywhere. Her h problem was perhaps over. Her husband was always reluctant to go anywhere leaving his home. Anamika at first asked permission from Nirmal, when permission was granted then Anu happily began her arrangement for traveling.

    She phoned her tow daughters for this purpose. They told her, "okay' . Then at first ticket was booked for Mumbai. . The then time was Pooja vacation. Nirmal was mentally prepared to stay alone for 15 to 20 days. Anu had done h all the arrangements for Nirmal. She stored various types of favourite snacks of Nirmal She wrote about medicines, how to take, how many times to take in a day etc. in a paper so that it would be easy for him to take medicines regularly and correctly Anu gave sufficient home works for 2 to 3 weeks to her tuition children Then she called her sisters and informed them about her journey. She also told them to visit her house sometimes and take care of their brother- in- law. Now Anu seemed to be quite relaxed.

       In the fixed day Nirmal took her to airport in proper time. Anu said goodbye to Nirmal. She also said him to stay carefully. After landing she would call him. Then Anamika felt quite pleased, thinking about her journey program. Now she was a free bird. There was no physical bondage. So she became very happy now.

      At last she 3 reached at Mumbai airport. After getting her phone call, her daughter booked the cab for her. So Anu reached to her daughter's flat easily and safely. Nearly one week had been passed after Anu 's leavinging home. Sometimes Nirmal and Anu talked by phone Sometimes Anu had been taking information about her husband calling one of her neighbour hood friends and also from people staying in her home. Everything was seemed to be smooth going.

      Anamika and her daughter was spending their time happily by gossiping, shopping, wandering etc. After one week Anu didn't get any phone call from her husband, Nirmal. She tried many times but answer was switched off. Anu was worried very much. She began to call her friend, her sisters, people staying in her home but she couldn't get any satisfactory answer. She couldn't understand what she should do now 

     At last she told about this to her daughter and son-in-law. They suggested, " let us all go there immediately. 'Anu was very much anxious to know about Nirmal. She asked her younger sister to come and visit her brother in law and then inform to her. But she replyed that she was not there now, she went to Bangkok with her husband.

      At last getting no option, Anu and her daughter booked their flight ticket in emergency and came there as soon as possible. Her son in law couldn't come due to to his urgent work. They reached their home in the evening. They saw that rent portion was locked from outside but the portion where Nirmal and Anu was living, was locked from inside. They went there and pressed the calling bell. But, there was no reply. Anu said her daughter to wait there and she herself went to near by police station. Going there, she informed everything to the station incharge officer. He was a polite man. He came with Anu.

     Till then there was no response from inside. At last police officer ordered habilders to break the door. All of we entred the room all together. We were astonished to see that Nirmal was comfortably sleeping in his bed. . T V was going on Room was also lighted but his mobile was switched off and it was charging. Seeing the whole situation

Anu got quite relief The police officer told Anu, "don't worry, madam, we were always with you "

           Anu and her daughter both were tired very much facing this type of situation. Both of them called Nirmal to awake.But he didn't wake up.Again , Anu became anxious.She rang to their family doctor and describe the situation before him.He consoled Anu not to be afraid now, he was at Bhubaneswar and within half an hour, he would reach to their house.Anu told her daughter to go and refresh herself.Doctor would come soon .One of us had to present beside him.Her daughter said,"Ok, mom,I would come back soon.'

         Anamika drank a glass of water and sat down silently beside Nirmal.Various types of thoughts were crowded in her mind.Suddenly a knocking sound was heard.She went there to open the door.She somehow became happy to see the doctor in front of her.The doctor entered to the room and checked Nirmal thourghly.At last he could take a decision . He said to Anu that it might be a minor heart attack.But he advised her to take him a nearby hospital immediately.

             Anamika went to see off the doctor.Then she told her daughter to call an ambulance so that they could take Nirmal to a hospital.Then within 20 minutes, ambulance reached here and Nirmal was shifted to a nearby public hospital.

           The hospital authority admitted him in urgent basis.The receptionist gave a form to Anamika and told to fill up that.After that she said Anamika to deposit 50 thousand rupees.Her helped her a lot.She took card with her.So , she had done Card payment.Then the receptionist told them at  least one attendant could be allowed for the patient.But , the mother or the daughter nobody wanted to go home.So both of them spent the night there. 

   They took some snacks for the dinner and spent the whole night there in half sleeping and half awakening stage.Anu spent whole night in unknown fear.She prayed to God for the whole night.At last , that dark night had been passed away.Anamika and her daughter both came to the receptionist for enquiry of Nirmal's health.The receptionist said them,"please be sitted, let me check.'After ten minutes, she replied,"now your patient's condition is quite normal, you may go and meet him.'They thanked her went to I.C.U ward.The cabin number was 104.At last they finally met Nirmal.

            There they saw that Nirmal was sleeping in the bed.Various types of equipments were connected to his body.But , when they called him,he opened his eyes for a moment and looked at them as if he wanted to tell them something.But his body didn't permit to do so.They waited there for a while, then they returned to the waiting hall.Then they talked with the doctor about Nirmal 's health . Doctor advised to handle him carefully.Actually due to loneliness somehow nervous break down,a mild stroke had been occurred. After 5 days,he was discharged from the hospital and brought to home.Anu felt quite relaxed.

          Gradually, Nirmal became quite normal.Anu wanted to know about the reason of his illess.Nirmal described everything . One day,Rani , nickname of Anu's younger daughter tried to convince her father to go with her and live peacefully with them .But her father didn't agree .So she left all alone.

     Again Anu was there with her loneliness.Her intimate friend, Santiniketan came to her and assured her not to leave her alone for a moment.He said that he was her eternal friend in every phase of her life.So she should not be worried for anything.Till now their friendship was as before.So , Anu tried her best to overcome from all her worries.
